[Tool] MagnifyPNG

Hi everyone,

This is tool for myself, but i'm sharing it here in case it can be of use to others. Unfortunately, I am a dumb-dumb, so if it doesn't work for you, no guarantees that i can provide support for it. I use Windows 7.

All that this does is resize a bunch of PNGs to 2x their original size in a single click.

So pretty much it has two main uses:

• showing off pixelwork that's too small
• converting 16x16 tilesets to 32x32 for use in the rpgmaker editor

I know there aren't many people needing a tool like this. Either they aren't making 16x16 tiles, or they've already got an action/batch set up for photoshop/gimp/whatever. However, if you do try this tool, please let me know whether or not it works for you. I would be very grateful.

This is a pretty convenient tool.


I personally use imagemagick for image processing but this might be easier for some people.

yeah this is certainly much more convenient than entering values all the time :'D

Just used this, it makes things much more convenient when I'm working on 16x16 tiles. Can you make it remember the path opened the last time it was used? Then it'd be perfect.

Ho my interesting ! and this system can be use for resizing my manga for fit more in pocket book! awusme 

just wounder this system is compatible with 8? 

because a lot of system are imcompatible with 8 ;_;

@Sharm: Thanks for trying it, and good idea. I'll see if I can't make it happen. I usually have my immediate work on my desktop so it didn't occur to me. 

@nio: Imagemagick (suggested by Tsukihime) is a better choice if you are doing manga pages.

My tool only makes pictures bigger by 200% (eg. 100x100px->200x200px).

Updated. Now saves the last input folder you selected. Delete the config file anytime.
