  1. Story Synopsis:

This game revolves around a Dragoon named Ina. She is half dragon, half human. A long time ago, in a Great War, her parents were killed by a man named Matthew, a man whom wishes to steal the life essence of all powerful beings to become as a god to the people of Tearan. However, in the end of the Great War, a mysterious dragon-kin used a special weapon, called the Staff of Ages, so weaken and seal Matthews life force within it. He was simply called the Timelord... He broke up the Staff into 5 orbs; one of Nature, Poison, Thunder, Aqua and Darkness, and spread them across the land. 14 years later, Ina heard that Matthew has returned and now she must go through a variety of dangers with her new found allies to put a stop to Matthew before he has the chance to become a god.

What kind of land is Tearan?

Tearan is simply a continent within the world named Ereyian. It has its main focus on deities, while its other two continents; Ereyian and Tavvarn, are focused on Magic and Time respectively. Tearan is also home to the biggest arena in the world (which is also available to use in game). What makes this land stand out from its others is the presence of Dragon-kin and Dragoons, male and female dragons that have taken human forms, and can turn into Fire, Water, Dark or Holy dragons. There is also a race called the Beast Folk; a nearly extinct race devoted to order and peace. They have the ability to transform into Predators; powerful and fast attackers that are adept at counterattacking.

    Features

    - This game has a unique ability trait for the main characters. A unique ability is, as its name implies, unique to a character, and each ability helps him/her in a vast amount of ways.

    - There are also legendary weaponry hidden throughout Tearan that can be obtained by doing a certain task.

    - The ability to upgrade weaponry and armour. They go up to level 10.

    - An arena to help with leveling up.

-Ina's "Dragoon" Form, which is like a separate character by itself and can level up as such.

I have a download link for the updated version:

    https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=CAC6792765876CEA&id=CAC6792765876CEA%21136

It is not complete, but I have most of the story done. I am working on finishing it and adding side quests and more character backstory. The pictures above are also relatively new. I am still integrating them into the updated version of my game.

    UPDATE

The story is completed. I am now working on my apparent "too difficult" problem and adding side quests, actual enemy sprites in battle and more character backstory.

  2. Game is done now!
  3. I am wondering, in screenshot 2, whats up with the face reaction? Is that on purpose, it looks like she is happy? :)

Ina always smiles, so yeah, its on purpose haha. I need to give her more expressions, or get an entirely new art style with a broad variety of expressions.

  6. I am working on finishing the side quests. There are few, but oh well.
  7. 1. When do you estimate the game will be complete?

    2. How long do you think it will be?

    1. I give it a month with constant work, but college is starting for me and that has been one reason my work has been slowed.

    2. Right now, the game is around 3 hours with me playing, but I'm hoping that the end result (with extras at the end game) will be around 10 hours? That's my goal right now.

  13. Hi, I'm also new to the rpgmaker scene, so I've been playing alot of the demos to learn more about eventing and stuff, and I've tried your demo as well.

Hope you don't mind me giving a few comments, or more like random thoughts while playing the game.

    Prologue:

    Spoiler
-The Tower was a bit hard to notice on the world map

-Some Myla kept repeating a long string of messages as if she's never seen me before. Maybe make a self switch?

-Ina smiles through everything, even town massacres. She scares me.

-Too many random battles in the tower, and the wisps, oh my god the wisps. Fought the first battle with them and ran away every single time afterwards :p

    -Why are the guards baddies?

-Couldn't get a chance to use the uniques here; the MP required is more than MMP. Unless its on purpose, of course.

    -Ina's breath attacks OP

-Shop should sell MP pots as well

-Heheheh merchant makes me suspicious of whether I got cheated. Spent 5 minutes checking out my money and inventory.

-Dead/sleeping sprites need Direction Fix On

-Levers have no self switch or indication that it works unless both are already pulled, maybe put shaking or sound effects?
    Chapter 1:

    Spoiler
-Kieran has nothing to say after being blown around?

-Arr shop woman you in my way

-No doors on the houses in regular town... and the castle...?

-In the bar, man looks at you when he appears to be eating (direction fix)

    -Evil pianist is evil

-Bartender same as Myla above, until I talk to the rich guy

-Armor shop looks like item shop

-After buying musket, dragonstones are obselete

-After Kerian reclasses to monk, the class orb keeps saying reclass without doing anything

-Maybe put more treasure chests to make exploring more fulfilling?

-Bartender lets me keep his ring! Yay

-Save stones although you can already save anywhere?

-King ignores me as I go through the hole

    -Ina's musket OP

    -Monk Kerian's guards, Ina shoots

    -Hell yeah Wao Dao

-Return to entrace but no fast travel back

-"Nice job. I can already feel the peace restoring itself" --great quote :D

-The king just... gave me a sacred orb?

-Who is... Henway? Got 400G for saving him, great guy

    -Lost in the world map.

    -Who uses beastbanes?

-Spent 10 minutes lost in world map

-Impossible priest? Fought an epic 20 minutes then ran out of pots

-Dead party members still look alive

    -Kerian burden

-TELL ME YOUR TALE, OLD MAN  :p  This might be a bug preventing plot progress, you might wanna check it out.
    General comments:

    Spoiler
-The bosses might need some gimmick to keep them fun, for now it's just spam pots and pound away.

-Might need a little more direction in terms of where to go

-Maybe some character interaction, to keep the player interested and care for the characters
And that's about it, I couldn't figure out what to do anymore so I stopped, but looking well on its way!

My gosh you got a lot to say xD Still, thank you for all this feedback! I'm still trying to get the main storyline finished, so thats why there are so many bugs, inconsistencies and incomplete areas. Once I finish that, I will be able to work on the small things, such as character development, weapon balance and additional stories. I need to find a way to get Ina to show different facial expressions, I know u-u. I will try to find a way to better my game! Thank you again!

  17. Hey Mitcho!

I tried out your game and I do have a small bit of advice for you. Concerning the mapping, I think you should check out what others have done and see some tutorials. It does need a little bit of touch up ;)

    Keep up the good work!

Ouh thank you! I'm actually working on an updated version, so I'll certainly keep mapping in mind! ^-^
  19. I tried out the game and I am looking forward to you completing it! Keep it up! :)

    Some small comments:

    Spoiler
    - I agree with tofuman, you should try to cut down the random battles by a lot.

    - Be sure to make use of the "direction fix" commands, there are some sprites that change when they shouldn't.

    - I enjoyed the story, but you might not want to begin the game with a huge information dump, which makes it hard for the player to understand the world she/he is in. Gradually revealing the history and background of the world and the characters could make the game more interesting.
Hope the project is going well. I wish you the best with it!
