On the eve of battle, play as Farida as she navigates a conversation and fights to save the life of a friend, as well as her own, before it's too late!

This is a short fan fiction game based on the amazing anime "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" by Kitty Films, which ran from 1988 to 1997. That, in turn, was based on a series of novels of the same name written by Yoshiki Tanaka. Although inspired by the aesthetic of the anime, all designs, including the ship and characters, as well as the story, are of my own making during the week allotted to the jam. The music at the end of the game is a reinterpretation of the song "Across a Bridge of Light" by Kei Ogura, which plays over the end credits for the first season of the anime.

This game was solo-developed by me, Omar Khouri, for the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.2. The theme was "Calm before the Storm". It was made using RPG Maker MZ, with the generous help of the RPG Maker online Community.
Plugins used in-game by the amazing:
    - Galv
    - Team VisuStella: Yanfly, Arisu, Olivia, Irina
    - David M Casas
    - OpheliaEnigma
    - inVictor
    - ZainWD

A heartfelt thanks to you all <3

  2. The results for the Brackeys Jam rating are in today and this game was ranked 42 overall out of 1503 games!
Got 11 th place for Graphics
and 18 th place for audio
Pretty excited! It's a good score fro my second ever game.

Especially since the first game I made only a few weeks earlier for the GMTK jam was ranked 6433 :LZSlol:

  6. I was writing feedback for this game and I didn't even realize it was for a jam. That's coolio, and makes it more impressive!

For a short 2-3 minute game, I thought it was very good.
The sprite work and animation was amazing, and really conveyed a lot of emotion.

The background noise/music was very nice too, and helped build a cool spacey atmosphere.

I feel like for how simple the story was, it could have used some editing. There was a lot of lore and technical terms that didn't reall feel relevant in the intro.

Overall, I think it was really cool. I'd definitely play a whole game based on the idea.

    Thanks for playing!
And for your thoughtful feedback. I get what you mean about the intro and I agree some editing would have helped. The fact that I had one week to do the whole thing by myself made me rush through some aspects. I've been thinking of going back to clean the game up, as there are also a couple of spelling mistakes and a bug that appeared for some players. But I am also considering keeping it as is to be faithful to the game jam experience... Not sure yet which direction I will decide on.
I am so happy you enjoyed it too <3

    Someone did a playthrough of the game on youtube ;_;;_;
