  1. Hi, everyone! How are you doing? ^^

Well, i'm here to ask something, 'bout the RPG maker VX ace (obviously, LOL). And it's about the Tilesets.

I'm developing my own and first game in this engine, and I wanted to ask, is there something you recommend me to create the tilesets? 'Cause I'm having a little problems doing it ^^Uu

Things like... The thing I create are too small for the stage, or it's, like... Hanging in the air, and that sort things. I made my own' separations (The squares that separates each one objects, and so on), but i'm still unknowing how it works. Any advice you can give me? n.nUu

    Thank u, anyway~
  2. I've moved this thread to Resource Support. Thank you.

  3. Tilesets for Ace are based on a 32x32 grid, so that's where you'd want to start.

Maybe export some of the RTP tiles to a new folder and open them in your image editing software, and have a play around with those to get a feel for sizing, perspective, etc, and see if you can make some to match, that look good when you place them together on the same map?

Kinda. Some things are ok, i think ^^ Looks good for me, but i'm having problems with the perspective in relationship to the squares of the grid.
I think that part of the problem is 'cause i'm using a sprite from XP engine in the VX ace, and i'm seeing the things more little than it has to be... It could be?
  5. The 3/4ths isometric perspective is really confusing. Here, I found this tutorial helpful. For creating tilesets, I really recommend picking up a copy of Pyxel Edit. It's only for making pixel art, so if you're doing another style it won't be as useful, plus it costs a little bit of money, but it's a fantastic tool for pixel art and quite helpful in making and understanding autotiles and seamless tiles. If you pick it up you might want to also grab my templates for autotiles, found here.
