Tileset making from scratch

Hey all RPG maker's

I been using the RPG maker for a while now, and in the game I'm going to make, i need different tiles than the default one's..

I don't know how to make tilesets, so a full tutorial from scratch would help me alot, and if needed, i got skype..

I hope this is the right section to post, and i didn't find another tutorial.

I do have GIMP 2.8 and Paint.net, but i do not own Photoshop!

Check the help file - F1 > RPG Maker VX Ace > Reference Material > Resource Standards > Tilesets


Also export the RTP tileset images (via Resource Manager > Tilesets) and have a good look at how they're set out.


There are 5 different A slots - each one has a different size, different format and different purpose. There are 4 other slots - B-E that are all the same format and used the same way.


GIMP and Paint.net are fine for making tilesets.


Search and see what you can find. Nobody is going to make a whole tutorial on creating tilesets, and there's already a lot of information on the forum (including in the blogs, where Lunarea has already started a tutorial on making tiles).
