    SECTION C: STORYLINE/PLOT
    Spoiler

    • Recently, within the last 100,000 years (the twinkling of an eye in cosmic time), a hyper-massive star that was host to a civilization, collapsed into a black hole, dragging everything in its solar system, including the civilization, with it. Now 100 millennia later, strange ominous readings begin emanating from the black hole. Something is stirring within. Something impossible, in a place where nothing should be able to live or escape. You play as Omega Cubed, a grey alien specifically bread and genetically engineered to be a part of the Cosmic Threat Assessment Unit, a breed of greys who's sole purpose is to address cosmic threats and anomalies. Your objective as Omega Cubed is to go "Through the Horizon" of Black Hole 3-17 and expunge whatever lies within before it can find a way to emerge and threaten a local inhabited star cluster.
  2. Hello! I did a short review for this on my blog. It is in swedish, but the main points are:

    - The story and setting of the game was really cool! Loved that you were brave enough to keep key points vague
    - Monster, level and sound design were great. Loved how you made the place seems so big by using seeable but inaccessible areas and the literal "journey through the horizon" at the end.
    - The font really fit the mood of the game but I found it a bit hard to read
    - The gameplay becomes a bit uninteresting once you level up enough to learn all the skills

  3. Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Indeed once all the skills are learned and you equip the advanced augment items from the sub bosses it gets pretty easy. I think in RPGMaker designing and balancing combat is probably the most challenging for me while set, setting, and story has always been what comes to me the easiest. I've considering doing a few Telltale like shorts that have no combat systems and are basically a work of cinema in the form a 16bit RPG, but I do intended to hone my craft better when it comes to combat and balance.

Also in the future I will try to be more conscious of the fonts I use and how readable they are. I was worried it may have been slightly difficult for some to read at parts.

Lastly I may do more stuff with Omega Cubed and the CTAU in future as well. It's a big universe, lots of strange and potentially threatening forces out there.
  4. Took me 15 minutes to finish, it was fun.
What I really liked was the overall atmosphere, the music choice and how you used that nice parallax background.
The mapping is nice too, really gives the impression of being on a blue alien planet, decent use of the RTP and addons.

As already stated, the font is a bit unreadable but I guess it doesn't really matter since there aren't many dialogues anyway in the game.
The battles get pretty easy when the character learns the Black Hole Skill, you can just spam that and keep healing yourself (you will always survive), but it's not really an issue I think because this is a short game.

    Well done!
