Definitely my favorite show right now! Wilfred and Game of Thrones are close behind.

You should put a spoiler warning, and put spoilers in tags. Not only because some people are not caught up in the TV series.... but also because some people (like me) are avoiding the comics because they're essentially super-spoilers. For example, I didn't know that comment about Rick. Now it's ruined. :(

The writer has announced a long time ago that Rick is going to die. He's not currently dead in the comics. Don't blame me for quoting the writer.

What happens in the comics do not always happen on TV. The comics are not super spoilers. Shane outlived his comic book counterpart. Sophia died before her counterpart. Many TV characters such as T Dog and Daryl are not comic book characters.

The Writer didn't tell me... I don't read interviews, or the comics that warn of spoilers. And so far they all have... until this thread.

By your logic... if it has already aired, it isn't a spoiler. And that logic is about as solid as a runny . Just because it is said, doesn't mean it's known by all.

It's just bad netiquette. Articles that post these announcements/interviews warn of spoilers... that's why I hadn't heard it.

Anyways, it's a universal courtesy. But if you don't give a rat's arse, then don't put a spoiler warning. No one can make you.

As I have said the comics are NOT spoilers to the TV show.

Announcements and interviews do not warn with spoilers. Last weekend was the Season 3 Preview Weekend. It did NOT give any spoiler warnings. The Talking Dead does not give any spoiler warnings when talking about future episodes.

The comics really dont spoil the TV show, now that were at season 3 in the show, and based on how much is different, you can safely read the comics without very many spoilers imo. because there are some HUGE differences that completely change the context of the show against the comics.

@Levi W: what frank is talking about is that the writer said that the walking dead is the story of rick, so when rick dies, the storys over. Thats all, its not a spoiler, but his death is expected. Needless to say the show wont even run long enough to get to that point i bet, if its taken the comic 9 years to get where its at, and the show isnt up to the end of volume 2 (out of like 15) you have nothing to worry about.

In fact franklin put an even bigger spoiler in the OP, your just lucky your missing it.

That's not the point. There were several actual spoilers from the actual show (Sophia).

All the more reason to add a spoiler warning.

I don't know why you guys are arguing. I'm not asking you to write a novel. "Warning - Spoilers ahead" is all that is needed. It's a courtesy. It's like arguing about why you should hold a door open for a little old lady. It's the right thing to do.

But like I said, There's no rules regarding it... do what you please.

jesus, there's one thing the rm community can do faster than any other forum I know: ruin a good thread. you should have just said "hey man next time give a spoiler warning for people who haven't read the comics yet"—and that would have been that. you start saying the word "netiquette" (which is a horrible word to begin with) and people will think that you're kind of being a douche.

also NOTHING was said in the OP's post that was spoilery at all (from comics to tv I mean—some people could consider "sophia's death" to be spoilery, but that's half a season ago and anybody reading this thread should be reasonably caught up). nothing in this thread so far could possibly make anybody react with "omg spoilers" because nothing has been spoiled yet.

also kirkman's never said anything definite like "rick is gonna die". he never says that about any of the characters. you're probably thinking about something else, like the thing that shiro said.

so let's drop that and ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT the walking dead? maybe? please?

also imo everybody who watches and enjoys the show should absolutely check out the comics. the comics are VERY different from the show—not just in the "what happens and when", but down to the characters themselves. for example, i couldn't stand dale in the tv series (especially towards the end of his time with them—he was just unreasonably living in happy magical christmasland); but dale in the comics is significantly cooler (TAINTED MEAT!)

the comic doesn't have spoilers for the show because of the way that the show is taking things in its own direction. the only kind of spoilers that the comic would really have are big general ones (like "they go to a prison", "there's a bad guy called the governor", etc), and really i don't consider those spoilers at all.

so yeah: read the comics. they are amazing and the length and amount of character development within them makes the show seem like nothing.

btw: now this post gonna contain spoiler's

the latest issue that came out was 100, and it was VERY MUCH hyped. a little too much (okay, a lot too much). they talked about it being the most grisly and game-changing issue ever and really, it wasn't. on its own, it was a great issue that pushed character development and the story—and glenn's death was pretty brutal. but it just didn't live up to the ridiculous amount of hype.

i am however looking forward to where goes from here. as painful as it might be, i actually want negan to follow through on his promises to break rick and his people. i love rick and his group after spending all this time with them, but i think it would be great for the story—if negan actually succeeds in breaking rick, we could see a huge new direction for things (at least for the upcoming arc, which looks like it is shaping up to be as big as the prison arc was).

also maybe we can talk about the games too. i actually think that Lee and Clementine might be some of my favorite characters in the whole franchise—i love the interaction between them and lee makes for an excellent protagonist.

I can't see a single thing wrong with my post. I asked that a spoiler warning be added, and explained why I thought there should be one. If removing the word "netiquette" would have prevented this storm, then this forum has a problem... not me.

If he would have just added "Warning - Spoilers" it would've ended there. But they argued, and as this is an open forum... I gladly argued with them. :) Takes two to tango.

that doesn't mean anything. saying that "yeah this character is probably gonna die" doesn't mean anything in a book like this where major characters die all the time. unless he says "rick is going to be killed by XXX in issue XXX", then it isn't a spoiler at all.

OF course rick is going to die. EVERYONE is going to die. that's how the world is. don't read too much into that. it isn't a spoiler.

Kirman didn't say everyone in the world is going to die. He said Rick is going to die at some point. He doesn't need to give details. If he gives details then that is a huge spoiler and hurt the story.

I liked the first season, but then after the second season started I lost interest. I liked all the zombie stuff, lots of it in season 1, and the last episode of season one I liked but don't really care about that guys wife going out with that guys best friend (during a zombob arockalypse) and all the other stuff not related to zombies directly.

That and most of the airing times in England are past my bedtime 3:<

The Walking Dead is not about the zombies. If you're expecting a lot of zombie action, forget it.

I recently read issue 100 as well, and The Walking Dead is just great. The TV show is alright as well, it adds some differences of course, but so does any

other show based off of any writing. It shouldn't really be surprising.

@Franklin: T-Dog is unimportant, he doesn't need any lines. He's not even a comic character, and he's not popular among the fans like Daryl. They also did question Hershel about Sophia in the barn, he assumed Otis had put her there since he was the one that did that kind of stuff before he died.

If you want a prominent black character, you're going to need to wait for Tyrese (at least for a short time). But you'll at least has Michonne now.

Love The Walking Dead, nothing is superior to it. xD I got all the current comic book issues (1-100), I got the 100th some time ago and wow, I can't belive kirkman would muder my favorite character that brutaly.

I also own the first current episodes of the video game, which follows Lee and... 'Lily'.. >:(

Also, they actually making another The Walking Dead game, actually a FPS (I don't got my hopes up for this one, Activision is making it). Oh, and season 3 will begin in exactly, 2 months, 15 days, 3 hours, 14 min and 2 seconds. xD

You're being unfair to T-Dog. His personality has been unable to shine. You can't expect a character to be popular without giving him a chance. We don't know anything about T-Dog. People won't get into a character they know little about.

The problem with T-Dog is that he isn't Tyrese. No seriously.

He just seems like the generic token black dude (which kind of sucks), when the comic had a MUCH more awesome black dude. There were also reports that T-Dog was supposed to replace Tyrese, which is a terrible idea, because Tyrese was an EXCELLENT character, and that pissed off the fans of the comic.

Tyrese was one of my favorite characters in the comic. All I got to say is. The Gym man. The Gym.
