The Secret Thread (Or Share a fact about yourself)

Alright, this is a thread to share a secret with. Do you need to get something off your chest? I'd like to believe you can do that here. No judgement. I realized that most every forum on the net has this, and this place needs one too. I hope you mods are okay with that.

But first, a few ground rules, if you please.

KEEP IT CLEAN.

Encase your secret(s) in spoilers.. (Many of you with doozies have already done this, thank you!)

NO CALLING OUT OTHER MEMBERS. I'm sure the admins don't like it, and neither do I.

Crazy-deep or earth-shattering secrets are most likely in spoilers. If you read them, IT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I hope the mods and admins approve of this thread idea change.

Sure why not. Because if you can't share your personal secrets with strangers on the internet, then who can you tell?

If I had to choose one thing is that I like to sing. And not horrible screechy, wouldn't-be-caught-dead-singing-out-of-the-shower singing, but real singing. I daydream about making it big one day, but I have horrible stage fright and won't actually do it.

My favorite job I've ever had was working in a pretzel shop. Now not the pay, that was awful, and not my boss, cause he was a jerk, but just the day to day routine of going in and making pretzels all day.


Making pretzels is awesome.


If I could just make pretzels every day and earn a living wage doing it, I would probably never do anything else.


(Not that I don't love the job I have now. Its an awesome job. Making pretzels is just zen)

Sure. I'll take a few off of a list I posted up a few years ago on my facebook:

1. I have no middle name.

2. The vast majority of the music I listen to has been composed by people who have died over a hundred years ago.

3. An assortment of stuffed animals I've had since I was...five[?] sits on a small table next to my bed (it has grown over the years).

4. I use a wide variety of old-time sayings, phrases, and epithets in my speech.

7. Few times during the day (if any) am I WITHOUT a song in my mind, whether it be someone else's work or my own.

8. I have four alarms that are intended to wake me up: my cellphone, my television, my radio alarm, and, if all else fails, my brother, who comes storming into the room in a fit of rage, yelling at me to wake up. I rarely listen to him, though...sorry bro! =(

9. I was the mastermind behind a diabolical plot to incinerate a cockroach with a blow-torch. The mission was a success.

10. I know all too well what a dead mouse smells like.

11. There is one word that, when said, will send me flying off the handle and tempt me to smack whoever said the word in the face...hard (don't ask me about said word).

12. I can recite the movie, "The Nightmare Before Christmas," in all of its entirety during any time of the year.

13. Over 90% of what I say is meant to be funny--if you AREN'T laughing, it's because you're taking me too seriously. C'mon...Lighten up! =D

15. Random Thing #14 was reworded more than five times.

16. I once believed my brother to be a burglar.

Hmm, little known facts about myself. Most of these would only be really interesting if told to people that actually know me in real life but here goes.

1. I actually don't like firearms, for all that I own several and carry one around with me most of the time. I'm a proponent of one's freedom to carry only out of necessity and an understanding of history. I hate that we live in a world where such weapons exist, just because I understand that the fact that they exist means that it is sometimes necessary to use them to protect those you care about from others who have no problem using them to do harm does not mean that I actually enjoy the idea of using them.

2. I'm a sucker for sappy love songs, and always have been.

3. I love to sing but I don't because I'm so bad that I've been booed offstage during amateur night at Karaoke bars the state over.

4. I have a fear of becoming addicted to prescription drugs and have previously flushed painkillers down the toilet instead of taking them after surgery and then masked the pain and pretended I'd taken them.

5. #4 is the only actual 'hidden fact' I can think of about myself right now. The others are all just little known facts.

Hmmm... Well, here's a bit about me:
 
 
1. I solve the crossword puzzle in every morning's newspaper, sans Google.

2. I have chronic insomnia, to the point that I've gone almost a week and a half without sleeping.
 
3. I often forget meals, simply because I'm too busy doing other things.
 
4. I've been singing since I was a child, have sung at multiple sporting events, but am terrified of singing in front of small audiences.
 
5. I refuse to take medicine unless I am told to do so by a doctor.
 
6. I own the world's largest collection of air guitars.

When I have to pee, sometimes I dribble on myself on accident.

Alright, let's share something good... Oh! When I first got rpgmaker I was so enthusiastic I put in 100 hours in about a week and a half; was pretty much doing 12 hours a day non-stop, until I gave myself a repetitive stress injury(which to this day still hasn't fully healed). :p

I used to almost vomit when I saw a booger in a kid's nose. This was when I was around 5. It was disgusting to me. It still kind of is.


I burp in my mouth very frequently. It's a habit and it annoys me. Sometimes it even gives me a bad stomach.


I'm very sensitive to caffeine. Sometimes I go delusional, when I've had a coffee or a can of energy drink even 12+ hours before, and I still feel terrible.


I love romantic movies, and I pen novellas in my head to women I love.


I reduce the idea of romanticism to an instution rather than "one true love", and thus I feel like I could end up with almost anybody and be happy. It's a combination of optimism and cynicism.


I feel like I'm extremely talented, but also really inadequate. I want to be the best in the world in almost everything I do, and that causes unhappiness when I'm not. But that doesn't stop me from pursuing.


I find the antihero that crumbles far more interesting than the normal person that goes through an "inspirational" tale. Unless that inspirational tale is realistic and they use their good will to push past either horrifying or paralyzing circumstances, then I feel like that tale is fake. I'm really cynical. But I'm trying not to be.

I'm not Little Red Riding Hood.

I can sing most Disney songs in both English and Dutch/Flemish. (And a few in Japanese)

I forgot what I was going to write here, so yeah... I'm really forgetful.

I am easily prone to becoming a fangirl.

I can listen to the same song for days on repeat.

Oh, I remember. I've been shipping my OTP for 7 years. I'm also pretty much the only one who ships them.

• I have a twin sister (there are two of me, think about that)
• I play viola and saxophone in a addition to the violin
• Everyone in my family has a dark and otherwise twisted sense of humor
• I could eat burritos three times a day 365 days a year, especially if cilantro and avocado are involved
• Everything is better with less sugar, especially chocolate and coffee; I find most cakes and candy overrated and too sickly sweet
• I'm deathly allergic to shellfish
• Enough about food, like many of you I also love to sing but rely on the reverb of the bathroom to sound decent
• I'm ambidextrous. I can do just about anything with my left at the same level as my right hand. My writing is much better with my right hand but it is legible with my left.  

Ok, enough for now! I could ramble on and on (don't we know it).

Erm, a secret fact uh? Well...

1.) I really get emotional or let's say attached to a story when it involves people of old age.(Yeah, To The Moon is a good one.)

2.) Beneath this tall and intimidating guy, I do love cats.

3.) I almost entered the Military Academy. And perhaps I can say that I'm thankful that it got cancelled because of a delayed birth certificate. If I was in there, I haven't discovered that "Hey, I can try to make games!"

Still, I am willing to enter the academy when it needs me.

I like singing, though my throat feels worse everyday. And I don't sing trash metal.

I chose my *careers* to improve my game development aptitudes. There is no game development specific careers here, though. So had to "improvise".

I'm introverted, and I love being alone. Much more time for myself and my own stuff. I can talk in public though, just taking it as a chore. I treat it as a life-or-death situation.

I hate parties. To death.

Sometimes I have sleep paralysis. It's... interesting, boring, scary, and I think I don't want to have it again.

...And I think that's about it.

I also have sleep paralysis at times. I almost always get it if I'm sleeping on my back. I get the classic "shadow hovering and holding me down" hallucination that is so commonly associated with it. I've also had dreams come to full life in my bedroom while I just laid there, and I'm always very aware that I'm awake but cannot move. Is it the same for you?

It's also not such a hidden fact about me but I also suffer from sleep walking. Most of the time I do something harmless like get up and rattle all the door knobs but I have gotten outdoors before and I've told that story many times.

Here are a few more about me...  I CAN sing, and I actually sound decent! :o (Who'd have thought!)

The amino acid phenylalanine makes me very VERY sick, especially when found in sugar-free products!

Iron Croc, I used to be the only person who ever heard myself sing. Growing up my family would always tell me to shut up (like, I wasn't even out of tune, what the heck!?) but since moving in with my boyfriend I won't stop for nothing and he now gets to hear my jazzy renditions of Sonic the Hedgehog theme songs at the top of my lungs every night.
