The Rising is a fantasy RPG game based just after a great war. Where tensions between races still run high.
History:
Spoiler
During the 2E prosperity and peace was everywhere. As the 3 main races of Gomorrah. The Dwarfs, who dwelled in the north. The Men, who dwelled in the west, and the Elves,
who dwelled in the east. However the Elf king Toralynnrin, decided that he wanted the minerals from the Northern Mountains for himself. Toralynnrin led a Elven host into the
North, to forcefuly take what he wanted. However the Dwarfs and the Humans still stood in his way. So a war raged. It raged for centuries as Dwarfs and Elves can live for
hundreds of years. Both sides took heavy casualties, however the Dwarfs took the most. The Great War ended in the 3E 1946. It was at this point the Orcs struck.
Their warbands came from the south tearing through the Humans like cardboard. The Dwarfs having suffered heavy casualties in the Great War, eventually started to lose ground.
First one stronghold fell, then another. Until finally the Dwarfs had only one stronghold remaining. The Orcs pillaged the abandoned strongholds and returned back to the south.
The Dwarfs are rebuilding, but have still not taken back the strongholds they lost. As a result of this the Dwarfs blame the Elves for the loss of their strongholds, while the
Elves where quick to point the finger at the Dwarfs. For a time it looked like another war would break out. However the arguments ended in a fragile stalemate, as neither side could
afford to take part in another war.
