    SYNOPSIS

Prepare to embark on an incredible journey to a world where peace is fading away.

The Lost Myth unfolds in Ancaria, a land once rich with life and serenity, now ensnared in a long-standing cold war known as the Pax Mendax between the Holy Empire of Graecia and the Kingdom of Valgus, the two most powerful forces on the continent.

But this "false peace" is about to crumble, reigniting the flames of conflict. As the world teeters on the brink of war, the paths of the protagonists will intersect, forcing them to confront their destinies together and fight for survival.

As the story progresses, they will uncover "The Truth", revealing how all the pieces of this compelling narrative come together.

    Q&A
When did you start developing The Lost Myth?
I began developing The Lost Myth in 2023, and a lot has changed since then—mostly for the better. Originally, The Lost Myth was available on the Nintendo 3DS platform and has been around for a few years. In 2017, RPG Maker FES was released, which is a popular graphics engine for creating RPGs. I was excited about the possibility of creating my own role-playing game on the Nintendo 3DS, so I didn’t hesitate to buy it. After experimenting and learning the engine, I came up with the idea for this game and started developing it. I also began sharing it with the RPG Maker FES community.

Unfortunately, RPG Maker FES servers have been closed, making it no longer available for download. This motivated me to remake the game so it could be accessible to everyone. The original game was only available in Spanish, so you might not have seen it unless your 3DS was set to Spanish.

    What have been your inspirations?

I’ve played a lot of JRPGs, but I was especially inspired by Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Pokémon. The combat system is similar to that of Octopath Traveler, which I liked a lot, so I’m excited to create something similar.

On which platforms will it be available?

It will be available for Windows, macOS, and Android. You’ll be able to download it from Steam, Epic Games Store, itch.io and HUAWEI AppGallery. The Android version will be released at a later date. While it may become available on additional platforms in the future, the ones mentioned above are confirmed for now.

When will the game be released?

I hope to finish the game as soon as possible. While I can't provide a specific release date just yet, I aim to complete it sooner rather than later. I want to take the time necessary to ensure it's well-developed, but I also want to avoid unnecessary delays.

When will the demo be available?

It's now available! You can download the demo on Steam, Epic Games Store, itch.io, and HUAWEI AppGallery.

Have you used AI to create the character design?

    Nope.

Hi! The Steam page is now available, my mistake because even though Steam approved the page I had to publish it manually... So now you have it. You'll be able to follow the news on Steam as in this post.

Thank you very much for your interest!

btw I take this opportunity to remind everyone that the demo will be available in October at the Steam Fest, so I can't wait for that day! <3
  8. Explore the Ancaria region!
Wait... Wasn't it a continent? What is this? A new Pokémon game?

Nope! But Ancaria is the continent where the main story of The Lost Myth unfolds. Discover more about this new world to explore and the rich lore hidden within it.

Ancaria is made up of several nations that have coexisted for generations. The geopolitical landscape has shifted multiple times throughout history, shaped by wars and the decisions of rulers. Ancaria boasts a long history filled with independent kingdoms, duchies, and territories, many of which have been annexed by larger kingdoms through both bloody conflicts and negotiations that sometimes involved humiliation. This complex history has led to the current political landscape of Ancaria.

    • Kingdom of Valgus: Based on a parliamentary hereditary monarchy, the King wields the three branches of power—Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. The Grand Council, elected by the King, advises the monarch's decisions and oversees the enforcement of laws across all towns and villages in the Kingdom. The current King is Siegfried II, renowned for his role in the Great War that ultimately brought the conflict to a halt.

    • Kingdom of Kor: An ancient state inhabited by the Enoshi race, the throne is held by King Koraj, known as The Philosopher. He is beloved by the Enoshi for his fair tax policies that bolster public coffers and for fostering a just society rooted in meritocracy. The Kingdom of Kor has historically steered clear of continental conflicts, preserving its millennia-old peace.

    • Holy See of Lyka: A neutral territory administered and defended by the Kingdom of Kor. It is home to the Great Temple, where the Great Mother resides, serving as the spiritual leader of Ancaria's primary religion that venerates Lyka, the Goddess who created the world and all life.

    • Principality of Dumah: Commonly referred to as "The Big Island," Dumah is characterized by vast deserts and high temperatures. Most of the island remains uninhabited, with the population concentrated in the northeastern region, particularly in the capital, Baladys. It operates under a hereditary monarchy, with titles of Prince or Princess. The current ruler is Princess Asira.

    • Holy Empire of Graecia: A relatively young state, having existed for just a few decades. Its foundation stems from the ambition of a single man, Descitio, known by his rivals as The Fool or The Just. Once a general of the ancient Republic of Graecia, he proclaimed himself Emperor of all western territories, establishing the Empire we know today. His foreign policy focused on territorial expansion, which led to conflicts with the Principality of Dumah and the Kingdom of Valgus, ushering in an era known as The Great War.

    • "The Void": This term refers to the disputed territories resulting from the Great War, the largest conflict in Ancaria’s history. It mobilized the armies of major powers, creating a global state of war that lasted three years. Following the armistice, control of various localities was divided between the Kingdom of Valgus and the Empire of Graecia. Instability lingers, especially in the region of Yueguo, where the Empire has strong ambitions to annex it.

It’s been 35 years since the Great War ceased, marking the beginning of the era known as Pax Mendax. But how long can this fragile armistice endure?

    :MV3:

Remember that the demo will be available on Steam in October, stay tuned! In the meantime, enjoy the summer! Put some sunscreen on and don't burn in the sun!
  9. Did you modify those Time Elements characters yourself?

Hi BloodletterQ! Yep, I've created the assets of the main characters but the battle sprites have nothing to do with Time Elements
  11. that looks sick!! love the vibe ^^
  12. I’m excited to announce that I’ve released a demo of my game on AppGallery! :kaojoy:
It’s fantastic to have a version of The Lost Myth for Android, and if you have an Android device, you can download the demo and start your adventure!

I’m currently working on launching the game on Google Play as well, so no worries—it’ll be available in the future! For now, I’ve chosen to focus on AppGallery because it’s friendlier for app submissions. This allows me to test things and prepare updates to enhance your gaming experience.

You can watch the trailer below. You’ll see that I’ve made some adjustments to the graphics, including the sprite in the overworld!

Now I’m working hard on the Steam demo, and while it won’t be ready for the Steam Fest in October, I’ll do my best to get it out as soon as possible! Stay tuned!

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm everyone! :kaoluv:
  13. Finally! It's been a long time since you updated the thread :3
  14. WOOOOOOOOOO!!!! congratz on getting the demo out moz!!! been a long time coming!! :kaojoy::kaojoy:
  15. Hello, everyone!

I’m excited to announce that the demo for my game, The Lost Myth, is now live on Steam, Epic Games Store and itch.io!

The Lost Myth | 遗失的神话 by Moz the Tiger
The Mac version is currently only available on itch.io. I need to figure out how to upload this version to Steam and the Epic Games Store.

You can also check out the new trailer below:

My idea with the demo is to update it with the complete Chapter 1 for when the game participates in Steam Fest, where you'll have more content and characters. My goal is for the Prologue and Chapter 1 to be free in the demo, and you can continue your game when you purchase the base game. I assure you that I will be working hard to complete it as soon as possible ^^

Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy playing the demo as much as I enjoyed creating it!
  16. Huge congratulations! Can't wait to play it!

SMASHING IT MATE! Nice one :D
  18. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! LESS GOOOO ITSSS OUTTT :kaosalute:
  19. Oh wow! I didn't expect so many messages! Thank you all so much! I was really looking forward to announcing the demo, but Steam took a while to approve it hehe :hswt: But here we are!
  20. Played the short demo, here's some thoughts (contains spoilers)!

Personally I'm not a fan of old-school graphics, but the outdoor maps seemed well made to me. Though (since there were random encounters) I would have liked it to be more clear when I'm walking toward the story continuation and when I'm taking some long detour to get a random chest. The interior maps had too much empty space in the middle (but I liked all the object interactions). Also the main menu had too much empty space, I think. Nice battle BGs. The music served it's purpose, but I think some of the SEs were too loud compared to the music (like the exclamation mark SE for example).

The combat flowed well and I think it was quite well balanced. I didn't use the boost mechanic in all of the fights though (not sure if it was completely explained at any point). In the final fight against the three empire soldiers if they all decided to use the area attack in the same round, you could get in trouble though (I got a game over once, though I missed with my own area attack at the same time). It's kind of curious that an attack that hits everyone also seems to hit twice as hard.

The demo was so short that you couldn't get a clear picture of the underlying story. There's something big happening in the background, but the prologue was just your typical 'home village gets attacked by the empire' start. So it's difficult to say more about that. Also, some of the (English) dialogue could be given another look to make it somehow flow better. And take out expressions like "Jesus Christ on a bike", which a fantasy world character wouldn't be using(?), or at least no one would understand what they meant.

And just a couple of random things:
-At the name select the 'i' is on top of 'N' when it shows the default name
-There's one tree north of your house that you can stand on top of

    Good luck with the project!
