1. Game Title: The Legend of Yaedith

RPG Software: RMVX

Game Duration: 45+ minutes

Genre: RPG Adventure & Fantasy

Production: USAGI Productions

Once upon a time, in the world of Yaedith, there lived a number of mystic races. For many years, wars among them had never stopped. However, since the King of Yaedith discovered a new energy source, the Human race finally broke away from the Stone Age and marched towards a new civilization.

Many years later, just as the king has returned from a successful peace ceremony, a royal son was born. In commemoration of the great success, the boy was named Oliver and as he grew older, he would continue to take up the mission to protect the Human race. Suddenly, the Kingdom border was under attack by Orcs, Ogres and mutated beasts that nobody has ever seen before. Unprepared, the Kingdom was defeated section by section as all the guards were to defend the Castle where the royal son was at rest.

As the battle continued outside the Castle doors, the little boy began to scream with fear. The Ogres cringed with horror at the sound, and furiously advanced to end the noise. The Castle doors were beaten down and the towering beasts rushed in with the newborn boy as the target, with no chance of him surviving.

The Kingdom of Yaedith is inhabited by various races, including humans and elves, dwarves and gnomes, orcs and ogres, as well as various enchanting wildlife. Recently, the Kingdom had become rapidly resented against due to being the most advanced in the world. Consequently, sub-kingdoms were required for construction in respect for the other races as well as to avoid war.

The Sub-Kingdom of Thalekor is ruled by a fierce detrimental king, consisting of Orcs and Ogre. The Gyfford and The Black Mountain are home to the dwarves. The Sylvari Forest is home to the elves and has been untouched by the Kingdom’s advancements of the time. Many other minor settlements also exist, as well as containing fragmented ruins of past unknown civilizations.

Amongst each Kingdom and Sub-Kingdom, segments of The Sylvari Forest link all realms together. The forest is beautiful and enchanting to observe, yet it is perilous to walk its narrow paths alone. Every creature has its own place among its kind and as it is known that greed is in nature, this creates conflict among all life. Orcs and Ogres pursue for the resources such as lumber for fuel and fire, whereas Dwarves and Gnomes seek for the enchanted traits, power and knowledge.

Most creatures lack the advantage of stupendous strength and towering height, yet since the beginning of time they have allied alongside the lower factions. Although the Orcs and Ogre race haven’t caused any confrontation or trouble, their intentions are not honest. Since the beginning of time, Orcs and Ogres have been looked down upon as savage feral mutations by Yaedith’s civilized folk.

There is a great enmity between the elves, dwarfs and gnomes as many elves blame both similar races for the rise of advancements in construction and their specialty, engineering in the world which is associated to the declining quantity of elfish political power.

An important dynamic is the existence and practice of magic in the world. Magic is explained to manipulate physical law to make a lightning spell follow the shortest path to the target, instead of the natural path. Much of the population has chosen to embrace magic for its efficiency, accessibility, and results. However, some races such as Orcs, Ogres, Dwarves and Gnomes continue to practice engineering exclusively.

Please, don't be shy and support! ^_^

2. Sounds like it could be promising, if not using the same old races that a lot of fantasy genres swear by. This isn't a bad thing though as it's gotten me interested in how you use these races to your advantage.

Magic sounds like it might not be so good for the world. Anyhow there's a lot of possibilities to be had here, so I wish you luck! ;)
3. Thanks Zeramae!
4. This looks very nifty! Once this summer contest is over, I think I'll enjoy an hour or however long it is with this ;3
5. Sounds very interesting to me also, I definitely would give it a try! :3
6. Thank you. The topic is still new in terms of development, however I've provided the general idea of the world, elements and creatures. I'm glad so many find it interesting already though. My aim is to provide a natural reality in the game such as the variety of races and how some want more power and land whereas others want peace and to be left alone. There is obviously going to be a conflict, its cliche. Yet, I still need to add the story, more features, etc.
7. I really like the second map. You should release your scripts to the public. ^_^
8. Thanks Rimmintine. ^_^ I might after I have finished and release the game to the community. :)

I'd like to also mention that USAGI Productions only consists of myself in development and my lovely supporters.
9. UPDATE: New logo and screenshots.
10. Please do not list rpgmakervx.net in the credit list, because that's a forum which has a lot of different members posting their own resources there that would like to be credited under their own name. For example, you haven't listed me in the credits, despite using plenty of my resources in the example screenshots. Please fix this and put down the correct credits for the people whose resources you're using (Hanzo did not create his own resources, for example the trees are made by two different people).
11. My sincere apologies, Celianna. It's been fixed.
12. @Usagi:

It is visually appealing, and the concept of your world is intriguing. But I see no plot yet. I'll be watching this topic, though. It seems that you have a good historical background for your world. :)
13. Thanks jaydee15! ^_^ I'm still working on the plot, which is quite heavily thought through in terms of events, characters, etc.
14. @Usagi:

Which is why I would give it a try, if it is appealing. ;)
15. Why, thank you. ^_^ I should be done quite soon. :)
16. UPDATE: Added Story, finally. ^_^
17. So.... What's the plot? I read your "Story" section, but (1) it needs a little touch up and (2) it seems more like a Backstory to me. But you're getting there. :)

What is your logline (as in, how would you phrase your entire story in one sentence)?
18. A peace ceremony is held as the newborn royal son is kidnapped by the ferocious traitorous Orc and Ogre race. Battle breaks out throughout the world.

The story focuses on the boy. The story has a mystery behind it as the boy is the main character and what happens when he gets kidnapped. Well, I can tell you as you find out in the introductory anyway.

Spoiler
As the Elves have connecting forests throughout the world, they ambush the Orcs and Ogres thinking they are coming to attack them as they are carrying weapons, etc. They wipe them out and find the young boy and think he is a young elf, so they take him in and raise him. As he grows older they know he isn't an elf but don't know what to do with him as an Elf life is all this human knows. The boy confronts his Elf parents, as obviously he knows he is different to everyone else and seeks out to find his family.
What do you think?
19. @Usagi:

It's getting there, friend. :)

How is the Org/Ogre raid related to the Elves taking care of the newborn kid? :\

And, this being a personal opinion, "thinking he was an Elf" is a poor excuse to keep him alive. Maybe they had mercy on the poor kid; or maybe the Elder of the Elven tribe predicts the child may play an important role to reunite the Elves and Men for a vicious war that is at bay. You can touch it up, though, since you still have time. It has potential, though. :)
20. I don't understand your question.

Spoiler
The Orcs and Ogres raid after the peace ceremony where the Kingdom would be unprepared and defenseless. They steal the royal newborn to use as bait in the future, however as they Orcs and Ogres are walking back to their base through the connecting Elf forests that cover the world, the Elves in the trees notice they are carrying weapons with blood on them, etc. and the Elves attack them seeing them as a threat, even though they all just had a peace ceremony, what else are the Elves to do? Anyway, they kill all the Orcs and Ogres and find the baby. They don't know where he came from and think its a young elf as Elves and Humans are quite similar, so they raise him until he grows older and they realize he isn't an elf, but they don't know what to do with him as all he knows is an Elves life as he was raised from birth with them.
That is how it is related. ^_^
