@kovak What do you mean by compress?
The Free Archives (Formerly Animations Archive)
● ARCHIVED · READ-ONLY

-
To reduce their file size without loosing quality.
I can do it myself thanks to tinypng but i know some users don't and they get frame drops during combat and don't realize that the issue is probably with the images being displayed. Ofc others won't have trouble with it so it may vary from dev to dev and pc specs.
EDIT - I'm not saying that it's a good idea to have 2 separated folders, one with compressed images and other with uncompressed because it generates extra work for you, i'm just curious. -
@kovak No, neither the Archive nor Collection animation sheets are compressed in any way. The reasoning being that, while there are tools out there (such as the TinyPNG you mentioned) that can trim down the size, there aren't any tools that can easily restore whatever was lost in the compression. Granted, the loss might be almost indistinguishable from the naked or untrained eye, but from my standpoint, this is something that I want to let the users decide whether they want to do or not.

Awesome Animations! Very clearly made to express! :rwink:

@hadecynn Very nice! I can see several of these being helpful to my project. I'll have to look forward to when they're released on RPGMakerWeb.

I was hoping to get my hands on these before the end of the year and now you've just made my day. Awesome animations as usual. Now I can go replace some of those place holder animations I've been using up until now. Great job! :thumbsup-left:

This new pack is amazing, I picked it up without even thinking about it and don't regret it for a second. Thank you!!
-
Wowe! Your animations so clean and beautiful!
They remind me of Kingdom Hearts more than FF a bit. -
Congratulations on the release of Quantum! I'll have to pick it up soon.
I have a question about the animations, both Animations Collection and the ones posted on this thread.
Is it okay to take a frame of them and make an icon out of it? Just resizing one frame down to 32x32, then putting it on the icon sheet. No other edits are being made. -
@ThePotatoOfFire Yes, with a few conditions:
1. The edited resources cannot be redistributed by themselves (as in, you'll obviously have to include them when you release the game, but that's the only way they are allowed to be distributed), and they can only be used for RPG Maker projects.
2. For commercial projects, you need to BOTH credit me for the original source, as well as make it clear that it was edited and altered by you (or whoever is doing the editing).
3. For non-commercial projects, crediting is optional, but if you do decide to credit, you must also make it clear that it was edited as per above.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. -
Alright, thank you for the quick response!
