Taller doors?

I'm using tall sprites for my current project, and they're working like a dream, except for one thing -- my doors are all too short and keep cutting off the tops of my characters' heads. Is there any way I can make my doors taller?

(Also, just curious -- where do threads go when they're solved/closed? I'd really like to browse and look at past answers!)

Sprites can be of any size - there are some door sprites available that are of a larger size, especially in the HF-Packs which also provide taller sprites. Only in the editor the sprites are cut down to 32x32 for visibility of the grid, ingame the sprites are displayed full size.


Closed threads stay where they were, exactly to provide later users with existing answers, just use the search engine on top of the forum.

XP doors should all be high enough for XP characters. Since you say "cutting off your characters' heads", I assume you mean while playing the game? Are you using RTP images or have you imported them? Got a screenshot we can see?

I'm using taller sprites than the default characters, though, which is why they weren't fitting through the default doors! I tried lengthening the doors on the charset sheet but it wasn't working out. Should I try cloning a taller charset like the horse sprite or something and making larger doors using that as a base? Are there certain dimensions I'd have to use if I was making them from scratch?

I asked about threads being moved because for some reason, it seems like all the threads in the RPG Maker XP forum are vanishing -- like right now, all I see are the three stickies, and I was only able to find this thread because I had bookmarked the page. No other threads are showing up in the XP section. I could probably search for an answer and find it that way, but I like browsing through forums so I can see all the threads people have made and get inspired from their questions.

Why don't you use your taller sprites as a base for the door? Makes more sense to me than using the horse, really.

Yeah, it's strange, but sometimes the forum settings change for the XP forum. If you click on Custom, then change time frame from today to show all, you can all the other topics.

...I cannot believe it didn't occur to me to just use my taller sprites as a base for the door. God, that is so simple, I feel ridiculous for asking this now. Thank you, I'm sorry that this question was so stupid -- and thank you so much, I had no idea that that was the issue with the XP forum, or that that was even a feature. I can see everything now, which I'm very grateful for!
