  1. Tales of the Drunken Paladin is a free-to-play JRPG that started its development journey in 2008. Its most recent release, Version IV, marks the fourth and final revision of a game seventeen years in the making.

You play as the unfathomably powerful, wealthy and washed-up hero of Maine, a man called "Anebriate," who whiles away his retirement getting hammered and generally being a public nuisance. That all changes when he wakes up one day with no money, no power, and no memory of ever having either. Join him on his quest to reclaim everything that was lost--and maybe even something he never had to begin with.

Tales of the Drunken Paladin was made by Steve Gibbon. The game is rated "M" for Mature due to its adult language and themes.

    FEATURES:
    • An interactive world like no other. Virtually everything you encounter can be interacted with in a hilarious or profitable way!
    • A bizarre, original narrative adventure full of hilarious twists and turns.
    • Optional characters spice up dialogue and provoke decisions which may alter the results of your game.
    • Optional hidden bosses are a tough challenge but give rare, often one-of-a-kind treasures.
    • Look at the world differently depending on the time of day. Dozens of time-specific events are happening all around you!
    • Tons of side-quests and mini-adventures distract the protagonist from his goal, and give fun prizes or even money!
    • Hundreds of unique weapons and armor are found throughout the game, making character customization thought-provoking and interesting.
    • An exciting side-view battle system complete with "ATB" and unique character skills, as well as a range of hilarious items with which to sustain yourself in brutal combat.
    • The save points are magical hobos!

  2. I will approve this but you have 48 hours to read the Tagging Guide and modify your topic. Please follow the keywords exactly, especially the first BOLDED part about the first tag as prefix. Thank you.
  3. Oh sweet baby jesus... DP is back and even is giving us an updated version of TotDP. Well, guess I know what game is taking up my weekend now. I have to go back an relive this one. I havent played TotDP since my review of it a while back, and you didnt even release China, Maine yet back then.

And BTW, how ya been Paladin? Long time no talk to.
  4. Hey Hyde, long time no see, my man.

Now's a hell of a time to get back into the Paladin. B)
  5. Well, I think I am going to have to do at least one more review video. I think doing a follow up video on TotDP would be great to show off the two expansions you did.

And it couldn't have come at a better time either. Our new community just got our own YouTube channel for our members to submit trailers and such, so now I have a place to add some new review videos.

You wouldn't mind if I did a follow up review, would you?
  6. I heard this game is funny as hell...today being friday. I think I'm set to do another let's play and enjoy myself a humorous game rather than a game that tests my mettle, reactions, and the bond between stairs...damn you castlvania.

Not at all. This is public domain now, my friend. Even if I did have a problem, I couldn't stop you from expressing your opinion. :D

Hey, I have a Huge amount of respect for you. And plus, I know how much effort you actually put into this project. So I just felt better asking for your opinion first.
  9. Best game, now in a more epic form that is version 2.

You are a hero of heroes, Anebriate.
  10. Woop! ;3 I'm very happy cat at the moment :3
  11. Simple question, I love your maps. Did you parallax map it or is it with custom tilesets? Either way, I'm loving this game. ^^
  12. is this compatible with VX ace? just wondering

It includes the RTP so you should be fine.
  14. Alright, downloading this for sure -- I still have yet to beat Big Trouble in Little China, Maine. Maybe I'll finally complete that task.

Really, I don't have VX anymore and I can still play it? I guess I misunderstood and he meant "does he have the ability to open it with vx ace."

The RTP was included, so anyone can play it without RPG Maker. Either he's asking if the VX Ace RTP will work instead, or he's asking if he can open the game in VX Ace.
  17. Just to clarify, the game can be played by anyone, regardless of whether they own any RPG Maker programs, but it cannot be edited in any RPG Maker program since it's encrypted.

And to respond to the question about mapping--I would say that of the nearly 500 maps in the game, only 30-35 are done with parallax; the rest are just from tilesets and events. But I'm glad you enjoy them!
  18. Oh lordy lord, I wondered how long it would take TDP to merge over here...;]

Well I guess its time to play it all over, man I friggin loved this game back in the day, great work, man:3
