  1. This is a game I released a little over a year ago now, and was my first long term project. the full price is $1.50

This story is set in a world called Talachrann, where 4 mystical crystals regulate natural phenomena, everything from the rain to earthquakes, maintained and balanced by the existence of these items.
Follow Liam, a farmer, father of 3, and loving husband as he is thrown in the midst of a plot to destroy these crystals, which hold a second purpose, and a secret tragedy.

The game and the demo are on Itch

Small disclaimers: Playtesting may yet have been incomplete, so there may be some bugs. Let me know and I will fix them as fast as I can.
  2. So, due to a... shameful number of bugs that have been reported to me, I decided to make this game free.

So, this thread needs to be moved, I think?
  3. Heya!
First off, that was a good idea to make your game free for a while to get feedback.
Also, as a warning, I will be a bit more harsh cause this is a commercial game, so some stuff isn't as easy to look over.
    Spoiler
I played through the first dungeon.
Right off the bat, I felt the title screen could use some work. The default font is really great for in game text and stuff, but it can look a little boring on a title screen.

The bright orange windowskin was a bit much too.

I'm going to be a bit more general with this one because I think the game had a lot of overarching issues.

-You might want to look at some mapping tutorials. The maps were really empty and sometimes had weird geometry. Most noticeable in the towns, where buildings would be super tall on the outside, but when you entered, they might be as short as 1 tile tall. The church in the starting town was the worst offender.

-There are a lot of capitalization issues. It really started to bug me after a while. Make sure to go through your database and events.

-Some weird textbox stuff. Lucious and Marsha didn't have faces, and your wife doesn't even have a freakin' name, she's just "Liam's Wife".

-The writing was very stiff. It got the job done, but the characters could use some character.

-You started out at level 80, and killed every enemy in one hit. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but it made combat trivial and pointless.

-The plot is literally just elemental crystals. I usually don't like to hate too much on cliches, but that combined with all the RTP....it really feels like RPG Maker: The Game. At least your a middle aged dad rather than an annoying teen, I'll give it that.

-The encounter rate was way too high for how large the maps were. I was getting a battle every few steps.

Oh.... crap. I did that for debugging last time I updated the game. I had no idea I forgot to change it back. I'll be taking the rest of the feedback to heart as well, but that definitely wasn't supposed to be there, sorry about that

(Liam is actually supposed to start at level 2, to make Adrian look strong at the start of the game. )

Definitely done stuff like that before, thankfully it's like the easiest issue to fix.
