OK we've got Normal, Dark, Sepia, Sunset, and Night. But no Sunrise?
What would be a good RGBG for sunrise?

Well, I found this post about it some time ago and I absolutely loved it, maybe it can help you too.
It has sunset tints and many useful other tints too. :D

Those are just presets for people who are starting out using the RPG Maker. You can adjust the screen tint yourself to whatever suits your map.
The link provided above is a good tutorial. That is a good link, Deathspecter! -
Technically, sunrise and sunset look the same...

Not to me, not from what I've observed. To me the lighting appears very different.Technically, sunrise and sunset look the same...
Sunrise: A lot more yellowish light and bright.
Sunset: A bit more orange-ish light and quite a bit darker in comparison to sunrise.
And obviously the shading would be different, of course. -

And the fact that we perceive the two differently (due to the fact that our eyes are moving from darkness to light, or vice versa) is something people argue about the effects of.
But there are other differences. You rarely have mist in the evening, or dew, which means ground and other low objects can be sparkly or misty/otherworldly, a bit.
And in the evening the accumulated dust and smoke or smog contributes to debris in the atmosphere. Some folks say this makes more brilliant skies. (some don't!)
But having the actual direction of light change would be a MONUMENTAL change for and RPG Maker. You would have to re-shadow all of your tiles.
On a personal note, my favorite time of day from a lighting standpoint is the beginning of sunset. Have you ever noticed how the whites just glow a bit before everything gets grey? It is magical to me.
Here are some tints I have used:

Maybe the successor to ACE will have this feature as an automatic thing? That would be SWEET!But having the actual direction of light change would be a MONUMENTAL change for and RPG Maker. You would have to re-shadow all of your tiles.
But I'm really only looking for a good tint setting at this point.
I'm also hoping that in a future game I can have the lighting in my games be affected by the time on the players PC.
So if its night time for them it should be night time in the game. That of course wont work for the game I am making now since it starts in the morning.
But that's something for another time so I don't even know why I brought it up LOL. -
There are actually scripts to achieve that effect. I'm not using any of them but maybe you should give them a look:I'm also hoping that in a future game I can have the lighting in my games be affected by the time on the players PC.

Script that uses the real time system clock (PC time):

Just to be clear, I was addressing light source direction-wise. Those scripts address changes for time of day.

so does no one have an answer for me? Am I going to have to figure it out for myself?
-
Err, you've been given several specific suggestions, including a link to an excellent tutorial. Now you have to try those suggestions, see which you like, maybe give a slight tweak.
-
Depending on your map, there are more specific suggestions which could be made. Try the stuff here, as ksjp suggested, and then maybe take it to the Game Map and Screenshot thread for more detailed input...
-
Nothing posted here has even been remotely helpful. But from the looks of it I'll try and figure it out myself anyway.
Thanks anyway. :) Vote for best answer goes to Susan. -
I know this post is old, but I've been using this Tint for Sunrise or just before the sun is about to rise:Not to me, not from what I've observed. To me the lighting appears very different.
