Storage space for scripts/demos?

  1. During last Indie's Event most Dropboxes went down and are still down. Also if scripters go inactive, their scripts sometimes get lost (sometimes forever) and re-uploading them by someone else is often against their terms.

Isn't there some way for non-plus-members to upload scripts&demo's straight to the forums easily (and breaking the 5MB limit)? After all, these scripts also benefit Degica indirectly.

That way scripts stay available when scripters go inactive, you can add proper terms and perhaps even a custom search-option instead of some wiki-master-list.

I dislike the master list because sometimes you have to click through x links to get to the script, or even through ad-flies. Not to mention that I personally don't even want to bother with it anymore updating it. It's quiet annoying.

It also allows for better feedback imo. Always having to create blog-accounts just to report a bug or for a question... But I guess that those people won't use these forums anyway.

And no I still dislike the Steam version. After a lot of messing around with settings the non-steam version is still better for me.

    My ideal idea:

Some implementation so I can just press a button on my profile to upload a new version of my script/demo. Then anyone subscribed can see that a new version was uploaded.

A search option for scripts where you can search by: name, tag, author and license.

    A ticket-system or a support thread for each script/demo.

    No Steam requirement.
  2. We already have a search option for scripts where you can search by name, tag and author, as well as a support thread for each script/demo, with no steam requirement. It just needs the author to create a thread here for the script.
  3. Yeah but you can't store the scripts here. Unless it's just text so you don't go over the size limit.
  4. I'm going to be working on improving the Download Center and having a Pastebin like system in the future. No promises when -- it's just been something I've been wanting to do. I don't really like the Download Center's functionality as it sits. So when I have more time I will work on developing something new.
