Snowfell is a quiet little hamlet, forgotten by time and location. Even in the past it was simply a one night stop in the lives of busy boat captains, fishermen, sailors, even the ocasional pirate crew or two. Now snow is the only thing that comes to visit the town, until a self-proclaimed adventurer crashes her boat onto the shore of the island. While she is in the completely wrong sea, Arianna managed to get caught up in a storm and ruins her sisters prized boat and is not too eager to get home. However, the mayor or the small hamlet or Snowfell is practically pushing her out the door, telling her to see the local boatman (who doesn't live in the village for some reason) and asking her to stay away from her young charge, Celeste. Not wanting to make too much trouble, Arianna complies and heads down to talk to the boatman about getting off the island, and ends up right in the middle of a story about a broken family, a mysterious girl, and along forgotten town and it's tale.
Celeste, who had been living in Snowfell, for as long as she can remember in her short life isn't aware of everything that is out there for her. Still a naive child, she believes that living on this small island and living in this even smaller town is all she wants. Henry, the local reclusive boatman, thinks otherwise and desperately wants to take Celeste as far away from the little town as fast as possible. Why though? What could possibly reason could he have to want to take a little girl away from all she knows? Arianna gets thrown into this rather tangled web of confusion and is asking herself these questions constantly as she only starts putting the corner pieces of this puzzle together. What of Arianna herself, what can a woman who is obviously inexperienced as an adventurer hope to gain by stretching the truth about who she is?
Starborn is a very short mini story, around 20 to 30 minutes, and is mostly the set up for what will be an episodic series. This first installment features no combat and just serves as an introduction to the characters, storyline, and perhaps will intrigue you about what exactly is going on with our characters.
Features:
- Writing that I maybe laughed a little too much as I wrote it
- A story that will continue in (hopefully) three more planned installments
- If combat isn't your thing, you're in luck! No combat for this particular game
- Some moments will maybe tug at your heartstrings...or make you roll your eyes
- Snark
- Made in RPG Maker VX
