Star "un-starable" tiles?

  1. Hey there, me again. It won't let me star a tile on the A set, but I need the roof to cover half of this door for a bit of realism...

    Things I've tried:

     - Making the tile above the door an event (Doesn't work, can't make an event of the A set of tiles)

     - Making a duplicate of the tiles and putting it on the E tileset. (Nope, messes them all up)

Any ideas how to make it work? ):

    Thanks all!
  2. You can't put a star on A tiles.

    You have two options:

    1. Take a screenshot of your map (in-game, not in-editor), copy the roof tiles and paste them into an empty spot in the B-E tiles and make those star passage.

    2. Make a copy of your door sprite and crop away the bit you want hidden (I'd go this way)

Also I notice your door is a few pixels above the base of the walls. This is because of the way the character sheet is named. If you look at the RTP doors, you'll see the character sheet name begins with ! - any character sheets with ! at the start of the name will have ALL sprites on that sheet drawn to line up exactly with the grid, not a few pixels above, as is done for actual characters.
  3. I'll give that a try, thanks for the help. :)

Also nice spot btw, I knew about that but didn't implement it. Newbie error. D:!

    EDIT:

It seemed to work! Here's what it looks like now:

I used photoshop to crop the door in half along with it's animation counter-parts. I don't know if it's the best program to use because I had an educated guess where "half" was but it worked.

    Solved. :)

    EDIT: (Again)

Just noticed it's a little smaller than I wanted. DAMN IT. Oh well, I can sort that from here.
