I need a parallax mapping script that will still let me have a parallax background under the actual map layer.... The ones ive found so far make have to use the parallax map "slot" (i guess) for the map.

Had the same problem earlier and the replies that I got were to use pictures instead of parallax

Have you tried yami's Overlay script? That is the one most often used, and as far as I know it doesn't use the regular parallax.
Unfortunately his dropbox is currently down due to exceeding traffic limits - you either have to wait or search for an alternative link to it
