  1. .....yeah. As written the title above, as RPG Maker, game developer or/and composer, what headphones, earphones or speakers you guys/girls used?

I used Apple Ear Pod which I can hear clarity of the audio. Bass, acoustic and rock is my favourite and I can concentrate the sound of the songs. But now it's broken. I'm using cheap Philip headphone now.

How's yours? You can share your story and recommendation of hardware audio for RPG Maker and music composition.
  2. It depends on your budget really.

If you don't need the headphones to be portable (you're working in your home and don't care about other people hearing), go for open back headphones. They leak sound a bit, but the frequency response and overall sound quality is much better. If you need to take them places/work at night with other people around, though, you might need to settle for closed back.
The things you want to look for for composing music IMO are:
    • Comfort
    • A flat/neutral frequency response
    • If you don't have an amplifier or audio interface, low impedance (under 50 ohms if possible)

For specific recommendations in the cheaper range,
    closed back: Audio-Technica ATH-M20x (~50 USD)
open back: AudioMX HS-5S (~60 USD)

Good luck with your headphone search!
  3. Closed back and open back? First time heard about it. What are you using?

I use ATH-M40X, which are still fairly cheap for studio headphones (under 100 USD) but serve me very well with general listening and mixing. They're closed back because I live with other people and work at night, so I can't deal with sound leakage.
