I need someone to try fixing my game so I don't get the message "Unexpected file format." when I try to load it! I have tried and tried to fix it on my own but its too confusing.
The game file can be found at http://www.mediafire.com/file/4zm10o7nhd3h4h0/Explorer.zip
Someone fix my game files please!

First we need to know what you were doing immediately before you started getting this error. Did you have a computer crash? Were you on Steam with files open when Steam started to do its cloud synch? Something else? There are many reasons why this could have happened, and no one will be able to suggest a solution without more information.

That's the problem. NEVER ever ever do that, as that causes the save operation to not finish completely. Afraid no one can recover the files for you, as turning off the computer like that destroyed the project. You'll need to restore a backup or start over. -
The only thing that was recoverable was the maps and events in them. Everything else is gone. If you do not have a backup then here's what you have to do to recover the maps.
Make a new project
Make 79 maps (that's how many you have in your project)
close rpg maker
Copy your map files only to the new project. not the mapinfos file though.
I copied over one file at a time into your project and had to replace everything. Then I made 79 maps and copied the mapinfos file to your project and it worked. Just the maps. everything else was default
