Since yesterday a number of 'clickable' features are no longer working for me. This is the case whether I use Firefox, Chrome or IE. These include:
From the bar:
Personal Messages area
Notifications
I don't get the dropdown menu that appears with my user name i.e. the one with Client Area etc.
Spoilers don't open when clicked
Topic Tags do not seem to function. I try to type one in, hit Return to move on to input the next, but nothing happens.
There may be other things which I haven't yet noticed.
I've cleaned out my cache, but that makes no difference.
Any clue what I can do next? I am not having these problems on other, similar sites.
EDIT
I'm having to do this on my phone as I have found that the edit button is another thing that doesn't work when I click it.
What I wanted to add was that when I tried to sign in on another browser that didn't work when clicked either. If for some reason this browser stops working, I shall be locked out of the site.

They work as usual for me (Firefox), so it's most probably either something on your computer or on your internet connection.
-
Not internet as other sites are working fine. Do you have any ideas about what it might be on my computer?
-
Seems to work fine for me i use chrome on win 7 so
-
Doing this by phone as the 'post ' button has joined the not working list.
I imagine that everyone else is fine - hence my question does anyone have any ideas about what is going on with My computer. -
If that goes through several browsers, then it's most probably the browserscript engine that has been damaged or blocked.
Unfortunately I don't know what the forum software uses, so it's guesswork from there...
You might try to reinstall Java, or deinstall and reinstall the Browsers (if you haven't done that yet)
If it hasn't been damaged but blocked you need to check if this site was added to any of your firewall lists (like "do not execute script on unsafe sites") -
I've reinstalled everything and still no joy. Javier to do this from my phone as I still can't post. It can't be that the site is blocked as view new content is working okay. Any other possibilities come to mind?

Scan for viruses. Sometimes they mess up your favorite site and nothing else.
-
Does this issue occur on other forums?
(This is Invision Pro Board software btw) -
No it doesn't, as far as I can see.
-
Oopsie, dat triple post XD
Anyway, what browser and what computer? Have you gone into the browser's settings (let's say Safari, for example) and cleared this individual website's cache?
Have you done a full virus scan?
Have you repaired permissions (if you're on a Mac)?
What happens if you right-click the buttons? What options appear? -
Done full scan
cleared cache.
I discovered that rightclicking the messanger and notification tabs and chosing open in new tab that I could gain access to the lists -
That's interesting.
Do you have any adblocker on the computer, or a universal adblocker for all the browsers?
Some people seem to have this issue on various other sites, can you also try downgrading whatever Firefox version you're using (if you're using that), and reinstall java? Have you tried Chrome?
Are you on Mac or PC?
On the PC, can you right-click the post button, select 'inspect element' and tell me if it says anything unusual? (I see an error on this side but it still works for me, for example) -
Make sure you don't have Javascript disabled/blocked. Sure sounds like you have something blocking it or related to it for the site.
-
Picking up several points:
I have tried this with Firefox, Chrome and IE
If I try signing in with IE, I can get to the signing in screen by opening it in a new tab. However, I can't sign in because it says that no user name has been entered. It has, I can see it on screen.
I have redownloaded all of them, and Java too
I don't think that Java is disabled/blocked because it's okay on other sites, but I don't know how to check this - the inner workings of a computer are a mystery to me at times.
I have selected the 'inspect element' and a whole wodge of stuff comes up but I have no idea if an error is showing, because it's all gibberish to me. this is the line that is highlighted.
<input type="submit" name="submit" class="input_submit" value="Post" tabindex="50" accesskey="s" id="submit_post">
I cannot post this in Chrome, but I can in Firefox. -
It's not with the site though so I don't know how to help you. Sorry.

Grab a malware scanner and see if something has been installed on your computer. Also do a virus scan.
Then check each of your browsers and see if you've picked up any weird plugins that you didn't authorise. -
I've done the malware scanner thing and a full system virus scan. Nothing.
All browsers have been checked for plug-ins and there aren't any.
The current situation is
IE
I can't sign in so I can't check anything else.
Firefox
I can only access pms by right clicking the icon and opening in a new tab
Same for notifications
Same to view my profile page but I don't get the dropdown menu for things like client area.
For a short time I could post but not now. This is being done by phone
I can access all forums but cannot open any spoilers.
Chrome
Same as Firefox -
Get Safari and try that.
If you want, I can try going on Teamviewer with you to check this out? -
Okay, I have Safari, but sadly the same problems occur, though I can sign in with it.
I particularly don't understand why only some tabs work - I can get all the drop down menus from the top bar, (Products, Support, Blog etc.) so why not the drop down menu from my profile name? I can successfully click on images in people's signatures, so why not spoilers?
EDIT
I have found that I can edit, if I right click on it and open it in a new tab, and I can post if I choose the full editor version and then click to post from there. Weird.
That leaves just the spoiler problem to find a work around. Right clicking it doesn't seem to do anything. Any suggestions?
