Some more RTP questions

  1. The main question is:  If I own an RPG Maker, can I use it's RTP in Game Maker?  I don't see why not, since I technically bought the RTP and Engine, but I want to play it safe.
  2. I think that the RTPs can only be used in Enterbrain's engines, so no, but I'm not 100% sure.

As a fellow Game Maker user I feel your pain though, some people were claiming ''free resources'' and that they've made them themselves and only now when I'm using RPG Maker I discover that they were actually RTP. Looks like that project is gone...  >_>
  3. Ha!  Yeah...  I would like to hear that I can.  Only thing I can do is wait though.
  4. I'm 100% sure that you can't. It's in the UELA that you agree to when you download the program, the RTP can only be used in RPG Maker and IG Maker and you must own the maker that the RTP is associated with in order to use it.
  5. Oh man.....  I was hoping to create a smash bros type game that can be played online with my characters.  Oh well.

I think you CAN use the RTP if you're using IG Maker, which creates action platform games, since that is also an Enterbrain product.
  7. Yeah I think you can as well, but my 30 day free trial of IG Maker expired.  *Sigh*  Ha

That wouldn't have helped anyway, since the EULA specifically states that you need to own both the program where the RTP comes from and the program where you use it (and both have to be Degica products, other companies don't count).
The trials are exceptions only for their own RTP, you can't use the RTP of a trial or the RTP of another engine in a trial.
  9. Yeah.  I am thinking now about getting some sprites and making an online rpg.  Fun!  Thanks for the help!
