  1. tl;dr -- if your battle test is working but when you run the game your weapons are evaluating to 0 and you're using both of these popular (and excellent) plug ins -- make sure your weapons are tagged with <not independent item> otherwise the damage will evaluate to 0.

    ==========
    Hey friends,

    So I just spent about 3 hours and the potential of sanctity of the evening with my partner brooding over a problem I had with what seemed like HIME's Weapon Damage plugin.

    My weapons were all calculating as "dice rolls" almost exactly the way he/she/they outlined on the plugin's site and the attack skill was set to HIME's suggested:

    a.weaponDamage(b)

    In a battle test the damage was evaluating appropriately. And yet in game the damage was still evaluating to 0.

    It seems like a lot of people had trouble with damage equaling 0 while using HIME's Weapon Damage in the past. However it had since been fixed with the 1.3 update. What I experienced was two fold and slightly different. Whereas others had trouble with it before generally speaking, I experienced the following:

    1. The plugin was working and evaluating perfectly in the battle test.
    2. The damage evaluated to 0 in game.

    I scoured the internet to find any solution and couldn't find anything and decided to start removing plugins one by one and I finally found the answer. Seeing as both Yanfly's plugins and HIME's plugins are very popular I thought I'd post my results in the event that someone else runs into this problem.

    Basically in my case I had to tag all those weapons as <Not Independent Items>. I don't know the magic behind it and perhaps someone wiser and further along can explain it to me, but that seemed to be affecting the way the damage was calculating and evaluating once we got in game. I was going to remove the plug in entirely, but was happy to find I could keep it so long as I tagged the items that way.

    Anways, again -- tl;dr for anyone using both plugins, if your damage is evaluating to 0 and you're using YEP Item Core AS WELL AS HIME's Damage Plugin -- make your weapons <Not Independent Items>

    Cheers~!
