Resource Type: Sprites
Maker Format: MV
Art Style: Tall sprites / more than one tile in size
Description: Rather than a single figure sprite I was wondering if it would be possible to make sprites that mimic two-three or more soldiers standing/walking in close formation or unit. My thought was groups of spearmen, knights and archers clumped together so they give more of an army effect if they lined up or walked after the hero, rather than the usual RPGM/Skyrim effect (were 10 man equals an army).
Perhaps it could be done in the same size as the ogre you often see that is larger than your standard 1-tile sprite - though that's just a thought, and I have no idea if that would work.

Do you have a certain tall sprite base you'd like used, or are you fine with any of the options out there?

I am partial to your own tall sprites (in that those are the only tall ones I've tried making anything with), as they seem to match the regular RPGMaker style the most. But honestly, I'd be happy for anything that could help me get these ideas of mine out of my head and down inside a working game format.

A bit more explanation: One of my ideas revolve around the MC being a general and leader of men and directing armies in battle (the actual how of that is still something I am contemplating. Needs to be simple but believable - turn based strategy, probably).
For this, moving actual units or groups of soldiers across a map rather than single models that represent entire battalions would, I think, make for a much stronger visual. That way when you order the spearmen to move, it's not just one guy without a weapon jogging across the field, but actual troops marching.
Cheers
