So...two cutscenes issues won't play/random teleporting

  1. OK having 2 different issues with 2 cutscenes, the first is well...the cutscene just won't play. I move the character there and they turn invisible for the cutscene but...no one moves...it's as if the cutscene script gets canelled out as soon as it starts. And get this, I tested this before and it worked just fine and I moved on to like 3 other cutscenes after this so...why the sudden issue?

    Second issue is for the...second or third cutscene it's the cutscene where you can choose your first team-mate out of 2 characters. After choosing one the second character walks off, then randomly the screen fades out/in and I was teleportred very close to the cutscene I mention above with the first issue. Now this WASN'T inside that event!!!! No transfer character command and not even a fade out/in command...so HOW THE FREAK did my character get transportred!?!?!?!?

    Does anyone have any idea what is causing these 2 issues and a possible way to fix?

    EDIT: I found out one issue, by using F9 I see that the switch telling the cutscene event I have a partner is off, so that's why it won't play. So the problem is with the second issue where the event transfer me to another map "before" the partner switch turns on, so need to figure out why it's teleporting me when no such command exists for that event...

    EDIT Again:I manage to fix both errors, somehow the event to transfer the player went from Player Touch to Parallel Process that was causing both issues. Now their fixed.
  2. Please post screenshots of both events. If you use multiple events, post screenshots of them all. If your events have multiple pages, post screenshots of them all.


    I'm guessing you've done something weird with switches, in both cases, which is making stuff happen that you don't expect. But unless you show us WHAT you've done (and a screenshot is FAR better than trying to explain it), we're all left in the dark and can only guess.


    btw - you posted in the Ace Support forum, but your profile says you're using XP. Which one are you having this issue in?

    Noted, here they are. P.S for the first, the first page is exactly the same as the one I screenshoted just for a different team-mate and...it was the page that gave the error of not even working.

    EDIT: Keep in mind these cutscenes worked perfectly find before...so these issues Idk why their hapening sure a future cutscene can't effect them unless I tell them too, which I didn't and using VX Ave now...used to XP but moved to VX Ace after I switched to Windows7, I'll fix that. ^^;

    WHO turns invisible for the cutscene? I don't see any commands there to make the player turn invisible. If the screen fades in but nobody moves, I suspect it's because nobody CAN move. Do you have events in the way - even blank ones? Events cannot move onto the same tile occupied by other events or the PC, unless one or the other is set to THROUGH. If you disable the autorun event and just put the player there, can the player walk around? If not, make sure the top left tile in the B tab on that tileset is set to a star and not X.


    For the second issue, it's easy ... if both of those events are on the same map. Your second event turns on switch 12 at the end. Your first event is conditioned by switch 12 and is an autorun. So as soon as the second event finishes, the first autorun event will begin.

    Well on the event on another map that transfer them I added the command to make them invisible so both are, I added 2 events with their graphics/sprites, and yeah the 2 events I screenshotted I switched to auto run because I didn't want players to move around during cutscenes, and yes  when it was parallel process/access I could move Twilight around, she was invisible but movable and didn't want players to do that during cutscenes so switched to autorun. But keep in mind before that event worked 100% fine, there was no issue before if there was I wouldn't have moved on to make more maps and cutscenes, this issue just appeared out of no where and at the very end of chapter 1 too....so really no idea why it suddenly now decides to not work even tho it did flawlessly before.

    With the second, why would autorun or anything end the event? As I said when choosing a partner the other walks off screen, the one you chose was suppose to talk then it fades in/out, but now as soon as the other character walks off the screen fadesout/in as she walks off and Twilight gets transferred to another map, no such command for transferring her so...why would autorun cause that issue?

    EDIT: P.S the second issue isn't even on autorun.

    EDIT Again: OK I really have no idea why the first issue is happening...I think I have a theory, for the first error I said had Twilight and her partner turn invisible. Well here are the events that makes them invisible and the event for her partner.

    I think the switch "Ajonteam" isn't on otherwise AJ would be standing next to Twilight in fact it's like the switch (the one that turns off her event and ends the whole cutscene) is auto turning on, Idk how that would happen. Also this is where Twi gets teleportred too after choosing her first partner (I tested and this happens for both, how the freak is she teleporting???? And yeah I turn the autorun commands back to normal).
