Slim's this and thats -MZ edition-

@Ms Littlefish Thanks! I can promise you most days won't have as much as yesterday's. Unfortunately I had a hard time getting the calendar balanced. I guess that's just stuff you learn as you do it more often. :)

@Avery Some place where you will never find them whahaha. Yeah, too many games out there use the exact same NPCs in every single town. Hopefully now at least the fairies will be distinguishable enough. And if not, well... :D


Three years ago, a younger king made his way on the MZ scene. Unfortunately he had no way of showing his feelings whatsoever and had to live with a constant "getting real tired of your stuff, Reid"-face. Well, I say no more! With my newest invention resource you too can have a "Oh, What a Feeling when we're dancing on the ceiling King".



And as I was writing this post, it dawned on me maybe people would like a tall variant? Since @Tonbi already had the OG king, it was quite easy to edit:

I love that it's pretty much canon that this guy is a menace to society.

And that king emoset is great, now he can actually look pleased when you rescue the princess! Or angry if you've ruined his villainous plans.

Anyone who has to put up with Reid reporting for duty deserves the full treatment, so I'm glad he got it.

I love the edit of Tonbi's sprite. Having a young king would be nice for prologue scene at the beginning of a game or perhaps flashback scenes sprinkled throughout one's game.

@hiddenone Clearly the fairy of death, as opposed to her sister, who's the fairy of light (by the virtue that it's the exact colour scheme of the goddess sprite). :p Hmm, hadn't thought about him possibly being a villain. The possibilities are endless :D

Back in summer I made a status update asking "what's your MZ resources wishlist", looking for some ideas and suggestions for the Advent Calendar. @ZombieKidzRule suggested a couple things, including more front view battlers. And after seeing the cool things Avery could do with the default battlers, I figured I should give it a try and the Undine battler immediately caught my eye.
So anyway I thought she would look cool combined with the siren and ta-dah:

Avery suggested I'd make her into a slimemaid, so I recoloured the original Undine and my edit into this slimey mess:

And then I couldn't stop and recoloured her twice more (poison and oil):


And of course like yesterday, @Tonbi already had a super cool Undine sprite, so I recoloured it to match the new colours:

Remember to follow his terms as well if you use her. :)

I absolutely love the Undine and Slime maid concepts here. I've been needing them for my own game and will have to pick these up. :) Now only if I had MZ. :(

All the new sprites and battlers looks great! Awesome job on the edits!

Those undine edits are awesome (the slime version is my favorite), and having recolored sprites to go with them makes it even better!

Dang, those merladies are no joke. I wouldn't want to tangle with them. Ecspecially the inky black one.

The recolors are very cool. I could absolutely see some of those recolors being used for a “corrupted” or “polluted” water source that needs purification!

@Guardinthena Oh, didn't know you don't have MZ. It was on sale around Thanksgiving. I'm sure it will be on sale around Christmas again too. Can definitely recommend you pick it up at some point :)

Well, look no further. Fantasy Boy is coming right at you, today on this day, right now!

One of things I really enjoyed spriting back with XP was children, and well the RTP has always been rather lacking in them, so I figured MZ could use some more. ;) I went with something that would fit the default medieval fantasy for this one. Maybe he's a squire or a young nobleman getting lectured by his tutor or a messenger boy.

Kiddo Reid is happy to have some new friends to play with now, but what about you guys? Would you like to see more kids in the future? Any particular preferences or suggestions? I'd love to hear them :wub

More kids are always welcome. Helps bring a little extra life to towns when it isn't just adults wandering around.

Plus with kids, you can pull childish pranks.

This was a brilliant idea. It always bothered me that there were so few children. How are we suppose to tell them apart? It's the fairy situation all over again,Slim! But you've gone and fixed that problem. :)
