Should I use public domain photos to recreate arts in RPG maker MV ?

    -I just start to use gimp 2 and do basic stuff so I can get used to tools.
    -I would like to track the line with photo editing software.
    -I would like to recolor the arts look cartoony.
    -Can I use those arts in a commercial game?
    -How do I credit the public domain?
    -Can I post those arts on this website to share with everyone here or it is illegal?
    -when I edit those public domain, should I get credit for those works or credit myself ?
    - what should I write in the term of use?

    You can copy and mix for public domain but other licenses would not allow it or have other rules set in place. Yes for pubic domain to make commercial games. No credit needed in public domain.
