  1. Hi everyone,

I've created over 2500 tracks of music and sound effects that you are welcome to freely use in your games. Commercial games are fine, too, so no worries. All I ask is to be attributed as explained on my website:

    www.soundimage.org

I sincerely hope some of my work is helpful!

    Thanks,

    Eric
  2. I've moved this thread to General resources. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.
  3. Very nice, I like how you've also got suggestions for where the music can be used. It's useful for near-deaf people.
  4. Wow that's a ton of music. Are you the author of all that music?

If you don't mind me clarifying, you say it's "original royalty free production music for projects", but at the bottom of the Fantasy/Wonder page it says: "All work on this page is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License." With this picture:

So I'm a little confused. I thought royalty free meant it could be used in both non-commercial and/or commercial projects, in this case RPG Maker games. But it seems to say non-commercial only if I understand the actual webpage correctly.

    Am I wrong?

Or may this music of yours be used in a commercial game for free?

I ask because I'm working on a game currently and it may one day be a 'commercial game' even though early versions will all be non-commercial, so I want to be safe in using only music that I can always for sure use.
  5. Royalty free just means you don't have to pay money to be allowed to use it. It has nothing to do with if something is allowed for commercial use or not.

Royalties are paid based on a percentage of sales, so yes - calling music 'royalty free' does imply it can be used commercially.
  7. The page is quite explicit.  It says:

    For Commercial Projects

For projects intended to make money, please contact me for a license. They are generally only a few dollars and help me pay for this site.

So no, not free for commercial.
  8. @Mouser - No it does not imply that. Also, royalties can actually be based on other things, like a fixed price for example. Percent of price royalties are simply the most common (I think).

Yes, I compose and perform everything on the site...thanks for checking it out! All of my tracks are free for commercial use as well as non-commercial. All I require is to be attributed as explained here:

    Enjoy! :)
    :)
  11. Great stuff.  Went through a few of the sections: I think you and I will have to have a conversation :)

Personally, I would change the wording from 'royalty free' though to something else (commercial license available?), but maybe that's just me.

Thanks for checking out the site. And that's a good point.

Sorry about that. Could you please clarify what multiposting is? I'm brand new to forums and want to make sure I'm following the rules.

    Thanks.
  16. These are really nice! Thank you! Is iut okay that I loop them for my project?

If the last post in a topic is your own, then you edit it and don't make a new post below it.
Bumping is only allowed if a minimum of 72 hours passed since your last post.

    Got it...thanks.

One question I've been getting is how to know which pieces are new ones. On any given page, I post the newest pieces at the top. I've also started posting the "newest of the new" pieces on the homepage. Hope it's helpful. :D
  20. Hi everyone,

I've added a bunch of new pieces to the site. Everything is free to use with attribution.

    Thanks,

    Eric
