I'm working with a team of about 20 people and none of them have RPG Maker MV available at the moment.
Can I share it with them or is that illegal? I at least want them to play my beta demos and I don't think they can without an RTP (Run Time Program).
If a mod could help me solve this issue it would be most appreciated.

Did you try deploying the demo? You do not need the RTP files as a playtester then.
-
Sharing is not allowed, you're the only one who has the licence to use the editor.
However, playtesting does not require the editor.
In the case of MV (which has no RTP), simply deploy the project and send them the deployed package to play.
In the case of VXA, the RTP can be downloaded for free on the links top right. -
How do I deploy the package? I don’t know what the package even is.
-
@Google_Chrom "File"->"Deployment"
-
Note - if you have purchased any resources from the store, you'll need to check the option to encrypt in the deployment window, because it's also illegal to share store-bought resources openly in a project. The encrypt option ensures they're not just sitting there for others to see/take as they wish.

Well...everybody on my team had to purchase their own keys.
The tool was not made to be used in such way with many people working on the same project.
Soon you'll know that back ups are a must.
Good luck. -
Got it. So I’ll have to lock my DLC correct? It’s four free packs from Steam. Are those illegal to share?
-
If you do all the job that requires the editor to accomplish (mapping, eventing, database, etc.) you are fine. For example, I'm working with 3 other people who don't have MV, but all they do is sprite art, story writing, and SE. I do all the rest.
-
What are the packs? Just check the terms of use - if they all say free to share, you should be okay to skip the encryption.
As for purchasing keys, anyone who works on the project using the editor has to have their own copy. If you're in a situation (which it sounds like you're not) where you have a decent number of people, contact Degica directly, as they do deals on bulk purchases. -
Or just buy a bunch of humble bundles. I think I have 3 keys for ACE as a result of those.
-
Has MV been in a humble bundle before? Note - those are usually steam keys, not for the standalone version.
-
I thought it was for the 2017 IGMC promotion.
-
Yes, it was.
