A great week as always ShadowHawkDragon! Being able to read backwards is both a blessing and a curse it seems...  :rswt:


Where do I start? Mr Cube Avatar guy looks awesome! I love the little ! that appears above it's head from time to time!


The Watcher Drone is really cool, and works great when paired up with the big brother, the Sentinel.


The statics this week though... SO AWESOME!! They are so so so amazing! The cloud is... well a great reference. A literal cloud with Cloud's (from FF), iconic Buster Sword, I just love it and laugh at the same time! The devil-sheep-goat guy is awesome too, he honestly does look really evil, and quite scary even, it's almost like he stares into my soul... OOOOoOOoOOOooO! Spooky Sheep!


The little Frog Magician is rather cute, and looks not too powerful but seems like he could be if he worked really really hard and eventually his book would become the Grimoire from beforehand!

I love them all the statics look great and I can't wait for any of them and I love the Cubenen. I agree with @Kloe about the ! and the litteral Cloud reference.  These battlers are just fantastic.

@DarkstarMatryx @Kloe Cool, I'm glad you like them. The sheep and homunculus are old but amusing sketches that just had to be done, and something about an actual cloud with such a sword... I just had to do it  >_>


The Cubenen truly is amazing, so much potential to work with, and those '!' marks just fell on top with little thought. Don't forget to credit @theGameDawg for the original design; I couldn't have created this glorious creation without him.


@Kloe You always catch the subtle details, but I'm surprised you saw that tiny tiny book which even I miss at a glance, and I drew him!

I've got to say, do you have MUSHROOM for a FUNGI like a mario reference or other gaming jokes? I don't have any ideas for anything else, the Cloud cloud was awesome though and I had some spare mushroom puns.


Also what about more battlers with hints to other battlers, like the Frog Mage who had the Grimoire battler, we could have one with lots of smaller battlers as weapons and animations, or like a boss that holds something which looks like another battler.


Oh and we need a ShadowHawkDragon for the 100th, that's for sure!

@Kloe Are you sure you can handle the beast that is part Shadow, part Hawk, and entirely Dragon?!


Since the option of commercial use is involved we have to be careful with 'references'. That's not saying there can't be any, you can't avoid 'inspiration' after all ;)


Internal references to my own designs, now that is a whole different story. Actually, I never really thought of it until now. Believe it or not, the book thing was a total accident. Now that I'm hitting the half-way mark to my initial goal, I just may take up that idea and slip more in from now on.


For some reason I'm getting the idea for a plummer style 'avatar' that jumps to attack. Don't know where that came from...

Shadow you made some overyly adorable battlers :) there isn't one i didn't like ^^ please make more : D your cat ones are just to cute! ><

Oh wow, you made my cubenen look really cool.  I really like you artstyle as a whole, actually!

Just want to say again that I think these are awesome! :D Can't wait to see more :)  I'm planning on using your stuff in my game so I"ll send you a copy when I'm done :D  Just waiting for even more cool stuff :)

Working Girl


She helps her father in both work and dragon slaying, this innocent girl is no pushover.

Working Man and Working Girl are both cute and look really fun.  I can't see using them for anything personally but I do love their look.

how are you going to be doing the world map sprites for them :)

@Nightshade I currently don't have plans to create map sprites of my own. I may consider it in the future, but not anytime soon. 


I have tried spriting in the past but never enjoyed it, whereas I find creating these battlers fun and would rather dedicate my time to them for now.


@Solis I look forward to seeing how you have used my art. Its one thing to release them, another to see them used by others  :D

Cool! That makes a great boss, especially since you made minions too, I can imagine a sword as the centre piece of an important town then an evil sourcerer makes it become this boss monster to wreak havoc!

Totally dig these to mossy monstrosities guarding magical swords. It gives off the appearance of a stone near a lake or woods or long forgotten ruins.  @Kloe Idea of an important town gave me an idea of a variant or slightly altered on. where the stone is pristine like that of a town square well maintained no moss or mildew grows on the grows on the guardian. Something that makes it look more like that of a stone cut statue that pulls the stone from it's head to fight when you touch the sword. but otherwise is like a prized statue of a town. A fallen war hero or something.

Inspired by the @Kloe and @DarkstarMatryx feel the wrath of the majestic angelic centre piece brought to life by evil sorcery!
