  1. SAFETY IN NUMBERS
    A One Map Puzzle Game
    ABOUT:

I made this game as a final project for a game design class I took in college. It's small, simple, and a little bit buggy, but it's complete. I'm proud to finally have a finished game to show off after many years of dreaming about making games. I can now call myself a game developer.

I hope you enjoy this little game of mine.

    STORY:

You wake up in a cell-like room with no memory on how you got there. A note tells you that you must find a code to unlock the door in order to escape. If you fail to unlock the door before the timer runs out, you will be trapped there forever.

    HOW I MADE THIS GAME:

I took inspiration from the movie SAW and the game SAFE HOUSE. I wanted to make a simple game that could be played quickly and had a Halloween theme to it.

I initially started with the idea of making a horror-themed quiz show, where the player had to find the answer in various books to get keys that would eventually lead to the final key. However, I decided this concept was too complex and simplified.

The following gameplay is the result of much refinement. I tried to make a simple game that could be played by one person in 10 minutes or less.

    GAMEPLAY:
    • You have 10 minutes to beat the game
    • You must find the correct sequence of numbers to escape the room
    • Once the correct sequence of numbers are discovered, the player can escape
