Observations
- First up, there's a really odd glitch that has text boxes display twice, which then results in the wrong speaker being displayed at times.
- There's a signpost on the first screen of Istina Forest that, if examined, shows Kanna speaking before you even meet her.
- When you do finally meet Kanna, the text box shows Abelle's name even if you're playing as Cain.
- Speaking of the two player characters, the way you choose which one to play is just straight bad. You prompt the player to pick one of two options, without any sign of which option will do what. Beyond that, they don't make any sense. There's no reason that those lines couldn't apply to either Cain or Abelle, and it would honestly be better to just be clearer that the player is choosing the form their player character will take.
- When doing the combat tutorial, the tooltip for Status doesn't show anything.
- Also, a few of the tutorials don't fit within their textbox.
- Combat in general feels super unbalanced. Cain got murked after a mushroom's poisoning attack did far too much damage, leaving him open to a wolf dealing the killing blow. On the other hand, your EX Arts just murder things. Combat feels very unfulfilling because of this poor balance and lack of any real interesting tactics.
- You can't see current AP in the Learn Skills menu. That's a problem, if a somewhat minor one.
- The game feels like it's trying to be three different genres at once, and isn't doing any of them justice. There's standard JRPG combat, but visiting towns and talking to people uses a visual novel interface. Exploration takes a third path, mimicking a point-and-click adventure game. It's kind of a mess, and it would be better to choose one or two styles to utilize.
