How far would you go to save a loved one? How far would you go to undo a mistake? How far would you go to find the truth? How far would you go to right the wrong?

The dimensional realm; Dubious is a land to grant such wishes, desires and ideals. However, such an opportunity is a double-edged sword for one must make a pact with the 8 rubies hidden within a world governed by corruption, chaos and anarchy. Dubious was created when Earth itself was over saturated with its own chaos, which formed another world made entirely of Earth's chaos creating a 'source' for its excess to go. Over time, ones spirited away to Dubious, still alive yet unable to return have tried to calm the chaos and create sustainable livings for them. Some of the monsters that are native to Dubious have settled also living perpetually with the humans. However, much of the realm is still governed by 8 Lords of Chaos. This eventually birthed a task and strike force named the ‘Highlanders’, the only peace and order Dubious will ever know, but for how long?

How far would you go to save a loved one? How far would you go to undo a mistake? How far would you go to find the truth? How far would you go to right the wrong? Why is it that those, who wish so hard for something, are never willing or able to fulfill it when given the opportunity? Furthermore, the chaos is spreading and people from Earth are being spirited away… Why is this? Is it a sign of things to come? What is the mystery of Dubious?

Yet at the same time the scenario is strange... Is this reality truth or false? What is the true threat and chaos?

  2. Topic approves but please read the Tag Guide and fix your tags.
  3. I really like the mapping style, I see a lot of familiar tile sets also. Even thought the graphics are great, I was deeply disappointed by the fact you kept the default battle view, but I still hold high hopes for your project.
  4. I've always liked the front view system (SMT and Dragon Quest~), but I'll have the drawn battlers up when I line art and render them so it will resemble the Phantasy Star games a bit more. Thanks for the comment!
  5. Demo release is out! Check the first post~
  6. Looks beautiful, to be honest.
  7. New demo release~ Check the OP
  8. Mapping looks awesome :D And the story is rather interesting. I'll try it and comment ^___^
  9. Awesome Mapping! How do you do that underwater tiles? Parallax mapping?

    I'll try the demo out :) .

And I prefer front view battle system... I think that suited the theme you set for the game. :D
  10. They're all naturally part of the tileset. The only thing I parallax onto maps are trees and flowers. I'm naturally an RMXP mapper so I know how to work layers (although being on layer short due the the VX Ace system :/) xD
  11. I gave a quick shot at the demo and once again, I really like your maps ^__^ They are very detailed and beautiful. However, I believe that the forest maps were too detailed and it was quite a pain to travel with all those obstacles.

I also like how you made the battles unpredictable with random respawn :) But after a while, they get repetitive and too easy. Maybe you should add more variety of monsters?

The background story sounds cool, but I think you should improve the presentation of the intro, by making it catchy and more interesting.

And it's great that you decided to add your own art for battler faces :) However, maybe you better work on digital art some more and make the characters look more attractive?

Overall, good game. The strong points would be the attractive maps and the engaging battles ^___^b

I'm not an expert at making games but that's what I thought of the game ^__^

I will play some more and get back to you :) Keep up the good work ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
  12. Your mapping looks awesome, and it seems you have your lighting affects working for each scenario.

Overall this looks and sounds good.
  13. Your style looks pretty cool, but do you think your menu background is easy on the eyes?

Doesn't look like it from that screenshot there.
  14. Yeah, I do plan to change the background, it was brought up on quit a few occassions so that will change.
  15. Updated thread with screenshots, banner and a video~
  16. Update: Latest demo released, check the OP~
