  1. Hello.

I had no issues using the XP maker with windows 7 before, but it is Not working with win 8. I get an activation error when I start it normally. And in Admin Mode it freezes the whole computer.

The trial version, however, works just fine. Any ideas?
  2. where did you save the project to? the default path from RMXP is now restricted and you have to change it manually to a different folder (my documents for example).

You also need to set not only admin mode, but also compatibility mode (back to WinXP).

I did both, but nothing changes. The PC just freezes up after some time and that's about it :/. And I cannot save any project because I cannot enter the maker at all. Like I said before, it either gives me an activation error (no admin mode) or everything freezes (admin mode + win xp compatibility mode)
  4. Driver issue? Did you update all your audio & graphics drivers?

In addition to the above, I found I had to not only RUN the editor as administrator, but I also had to run the installer as administrator.

Did you also check the very long thread that discusses activation issues? (I THINK XP and Ace use the same activation system)
  5. Drivers are all up to date.

Yes, I did run the install as an administrator, but that does not help much. Everything freezes :/

That looks like the program hasn't been activated, and freezes when it tries to contact the activation server.
Have you checked if the program got on the blacklist of either a firewall or a virus protector?

Yes, I did. But it did not help much, sadly :/ .

That is something I really do not understand. I made sure that the windows firewall is off, and the only virus protector I have is Panda Free Antivirus. And that one was also turned off during the installation, and when I tried to start it in admin mode a few times. It is just really weird.
