So thanks to everyone here, the general consensus here seems to be that it's up to date and will in fact run fine on new systems. Thanks for the information you guys!
So after a loooooong time of being out of the RPG Maker scene I'm looking to return and work on a project. Now since I last used an RPG Maker (A demo of VX a while back), I've been longing for the familiar UI of RPGXP, not to mention I can really get behind the mapping system. It's the closest to what I wanted and personally I don't really like the changes (Honestly? My two makers of choice would be RPG2k3 and RPGXP).
Rambling aside, I noticed that there seems to be a complete hit or miss set of issues when it comes to RPG Maker XP and trying to run it on a 64-bit operating system. The fact is simple - RPG Maker XP does not support 64-bit outright. Doing some reading, I noticed in (admittedly) a Wikipedia article, an update/variation of RPGXP called RPG Maker XP VALUE!+ and while the online activation stuff is mildly annoying, I'm more specifically drawn to the fact that it supports 64-bit. This makes me happy.
That being said, is there an update for the US version of RPGXP? It runs fine for me on my system, but considering people apparently have issues running RPGXP on their systems at times, it makes me concerned about the game itself being able to run correctly on others running.
Lastly, I've noticed that the trial version of the software not only talks about online activation but also lists it's version as 1.05a (Also when I used it a while back - 1.02a which my friend has now, even the tileset didn't have hot pink representing it's 'transparent' color). Is this the updated version that runs on 64-bit? If so.... any reason I see other places still mentioning it doesn't support 64 bit? I'm really confused... X_X;
Any help and information on this is appreciated.
