Can anyone provide some differences between the 2 different RPG Makers?
I did a search but couldn't find anything. If you know of some, please post them and I will look there.

Do you know XP? it's basically XP for the database menu but with VX Ace mapping.
-
I am only familiar with VX Ace. Soon to get familiar with MV :D
-
If you've already got VXAce, don't bother with VX. Ace is basically a significantly improved version of VX, in the same way that MV is (arguably) an improvement over Ace.
-
Added to the above, if you already have Ace, the only reason to get VX is if you want to use resources that are based on the VX RTP.
Or if you have a thing about collecting all the different versions of the engine :) -
don't bother with VX if you have VXA.
for example one of the main differences between VX and VXA is that in VX, you'll have exactly ONE tileset of the kind you have dozens of in VXA. In VXA every map can have its own tileset, in VX you have one tileset for the entire game (all maps) unless you use scripts.
And there are a lot of other differences where Ace has been improved. -

This. I had to use many scripts in VX for things that can be done by default with Ace. -

Thats something I never understood.
Everything of the VX RTP is in VXAce, too.
I mean there is no difference between, for example, VX Ralph and ACE Ralph.
This really makes no sense.
Someone enlighten me? -
The RTP VX cliff tile is different than Ace. That's the only reason you want VX, and that's IF you want to use THAT tile.Thats something I never understood.

@Lornsteyn there are small differences in the RTP, they're not identical and were made by different artists who tried to work similiar to the previous set.
And that makes the entire thing a legal distinction: if someone had made edits using the VX-set, that is a different base than edits of the VXA-set. But as per EULA you can only use RTP and (more important) edits of the RTP if you own the maker where the RTP was distributed with.
Only one set of graphics has ever been given an exception to that legal requirement, and that was done by Degica artists who had to campaign for years before they got that exception from the rule.
For everything else on this forum or on the web, if it says it's an edit of VX resources then you need to own VX to use them. -
All the enemy battlers are different too, they fit better with the DS battlers than Ace's battlers do.Thats something I never understood.

Speaking of VX and VXA RTP, I almost forgot that their BGM resources are different.
So if you found some VX BGM edits/remix from RTP, and you want to use it, you gonna need the license for VX.
But everyone is going to use DLC or custom bgm anyway...
