  1. Hello!

I’m sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask - I did research and this was my best guess.

    Anyway, my question is this:

Is it possible to make RPG Maker MV and Visual Novel Maker talk to each other? I ask this as someone who owns and has been working on an RPG Maker game, but just obtained VNM from a Humble bundle.

I’m also curious - what are the primary differences between GENE and VNM?

Again, I apologize if this isn’t the place to ask or if these questions are so ridiculous it’s offensive.

    Look forward to your replies.
  2. It's most definitely not the right place. I believe this belongs to Product Discussion, so I'll be moving it there.

VNM means Visual Novel Maker. It has everything you need to create a visual novel. RPG Maker is RPG Maker. Gene is just..........an eventing tool.
    They're two completely different engines.
  4. Thank you admins for moving this to the right place. Sorry I didn't get it right the first time.

I guess the problem is my lack of knowledge about VNM. I thought it basically WAS a tool to script visual novel like sequences, with maybe some artboard functionality to help keep track of player choices more easily. I figured it would've been neat if it were possible to create cut scenes for an RPG Maker game in Visual Novel Maker (Like in the Neptunia series, or the recently popular Dragalia game for mobile).

I suppose I should do more homework before I ask stuff like that... sorry for the inconvenience.
  5. You can use some of the rpg maker busts from vn maker. I think they have most of the rtp main actors then show them as pictures and have a parallax background as the battle background image such as a castle.

Basically you can make a vn like cutscene in rpg maker without need of plugins or additional tools.
  6. Can you use the content from VNM in RPG Maker?
  7. @redbizon Only if you own both engines.
