It should be said early this game is planned to be a commercial game. While I do not have the funds to pay you while we are developing, we can negotiate via royalties, or other forms of post payment privately if required. Team members will also be considered part of the team and eligible to help on future products as contract workers(that will be paid).
The game will be made in RPG Maker VX Ace
The team at the moment for the game is myself, an artist, and an animator. We are making 2 games, and this is the second game so this is not their priority. As a result we will be making the game with the basic assets then we will re-skin the sprites after we have finished the basic game.
The main desired mechanics:
-A branching story line
-An open skill system where the player is not bound by class and instead chooses his skills as the game progresses (I have a plan for this)
-A side based fighting scene
-Event based monsters instead of random encounters
What do we need?
At the moment we are in need of a level designer/map creator(because I am bad at it), and a scripting expert. Both of you will work with me on the game. The following is what will be expected of the team members.
Level Designer- The level designer will design the levels and maps for the game based around the story. I will be working heavily with you to help you get the feel down for the game. Bellow are some of the crappy maps that I have made so you can see that everything is an improvement.
The First Village-

The World Map- (So Far)

The First Large City-

Scripting Expert- The scripting expert will be expected to have a large base knowledge of the scripting for RPG Maker. This includes being able to make his own custom script, and being able to edit third party script. The first script that will need to be made will be a side view based battle script.
