resizing sprites

I am using this sprite that is taller than most. When I try to resize it to appropriate size picture it squishes everything and sprite looks terrible. what is the best way to change the sprite to a taller looking sprite with out squishing it... Is there a script involved?

Nope... no script though ..... try doing this.....

Import ur sprite in gimp or PS..... Then crop the image around ur character..... then resize it and add $ before its name.....

ITs very annoying because u'd have to try again and again.... sometimes a line shows over the head.... etc... so keep trying

If u can't do it.... then post ur character..... i could try ^_^

$ means the program will read it as one spritesheet, if you use no symbols, it will assume you have 8 spritesheets in the same image.
