As much as I want to use the Medieval tiles, the High Fantasy stuff is already done, populated with tons of tiles, characters, and monsters, and I want to get to work. I just need to figure out if anyone has made an attempt at resizing these for MV. I know Waifu2x exists, but it seems to create a weird sort of "sharpness" to the autotiles, especially the walls. Has anyone come up with a way of fixing these problems? Should I just try and scale the tiles up in GIMP and....add a filter of some kind? I'm not really sure xD
Medieval is great, don't get me wrong, but High Fantasy has had years of work already completed. I believe the Medieval stuff will eventually get there, but I just want to make a game as a personal project and a challenge to myself to get things done. HF has all the stuff Medieval is missing that I need currently. Once Medieval has a few more packs later on down the road I can do what I'm planning to do(and what I'm spending hours of my life writing)
Worst comes to worst I'll just use the Change Tile Size plugin, but if I can scale them up instead it'd be nice.
Resizing High Fantasy Resources?

You could use the MV plug-in that allows you to set the grid size and set that to 32. Scaling up graphics regardless of the style pretty much almost never works out well.
Out of curiosity, what resources do you feel you are lacking from the Medieval stuff that is covered in High Fantasy? All I can think of really, at least in terms of tiles/biomes, is snow and maybe swamp stuff. There are more Medieval packs than there were High Fantasy packs (13 Medieval packs, versus 6 High Fantasy packs). -
Howdy Jesse! Snow, desert, the decals/structures from Infernus for sure, magical items, and more monsters. I have Monsters Legacy, and sooo many of those would be useful. I'm not dunking on your incredible work at all. I more or less wanted to make something for fun with HF while waiting on Medieval. But I may just get working with Medieval because my game world size has grown seemingly overnight lmao.
Some brown cliffs/underground tiles would be great too at some point .Lots of grey otherwise : P. I've tried modifying them but that didn't work well lol. I may not quite understand how to do color edits though. -
I don't know if I would resize them if not for the tricky autotile question.
The HF-resources were always rather large compared to other Ace resources, and that had always limited what you could put on a map - just check how some structures like the market stands in town or trees need to be constructed of dozens of B-E-Tiles. Same goes for most sprites, the only real problem with using the HF-Resources as-is would be the autotiles on A.
The 48-pixel-grid of MV would imho be more fitting for the larger parts of the HF-Packages if you prefer to use tile mapping (there was some comment somewhere that the buildings in the medieval packs were intended for parallax mapping simply because of the required size and the limits on the tilesets).
The A tiles however could be a real problem as you need autotiles to fit exactly...
