  1. I'm using RPG maker vx ace right now and I've been seeing it everywhere that it's easy to take out the level and HP in the menu but for some reasons, I can't find a single tutorial
    my menu is customized as well and looks like this

    Here's the code for the menu if anyone needs to know
    #==============================================================================
    # ** Scene_Menu
    #------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # This class performs the menu screen processing.
    #==============================================================================

    class Scene_Menu < Scene_MenuBase

    alias :mrts_wh_start :start

    def start
    mrts_wh_start
    move_windows
    end

    def create_gold_window ; end

    def move_windows
    @command_window.y = Graphics.height - @command_window.height - 20
    @command_window.x += 10
    @status_window.y = Graphics.height - @status_window.height - 10
    @status_window.x += 20
    end
    end

    class Window_MenuStatus < Window_Selectable
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # * Get Window Width
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    def window_width
    Graphics.width - 180
    end
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # * Get Window Height
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    def window_height
    96 + standard_padding * 2
    end

    def draw_actor_simple_status(actor, x, y)
    draw_actor_name(actor, x, y + 12)
    draw_actor_level(actor, x, y + line_height * 1 + 12)
    draw_actor_hp(actor, x + 100, y + line_height * 1 + 12)
    end
    end

    class Window_MenuCommand < Window_Command
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # * Get Window Width
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    def window_width
    return 140
    end
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # * Create Command List
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    def make_command_list
    add_main_commands
    add_game_end_command
    end
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # * Add Main Commands to List
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    def add_main_commands
    add_command(Vocab::item, :item, main_commands_enabled)
    end
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # * Add Exit Game to Command List
    #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
    def add_game_end_command
    add_command(Vocab::game_end, :game_end)
    end
    end

    Thanks so much in advance.
  2. To remove level/ hp in menu, delete these lines: 42, 43
    Code:
    draw_actor_level(actor, x, y + line_height * 1 + 12)
    draw_actor_hp(actor, x + 100, y + line_height * 1 + 12)
  3. Better comment them out than delete them though.
    Commenting in Ruby can be done by putting the charatcter # at the very begining of a line.

    #draw_actor_level(actor, x, y + line_height * 1 + 12)
    #draw_actor_hp(actor, x + 100, y + line_height * 1 + 12)

    The lines above will will be totally be ignored.

    Thank you so much! I did as you say, another question I have to add if I want to add portrait in the menu next to the name of the character, do I need to script it in? Because adding a photo in the database actor didn't do anything.
  5. I looked under 'Scene Menu' but cannot locate those lines. Is that a default script or other script? I also would like to remove those items from my game.
  6. @CodeHunterEx if you look at his code, he has overwritten the default methods.
    The Window_MenuStatus links to Window_Selectable which links to Window_Base
    It is in Window base where you will find the draw_actor_simple_status
    Put a # in front of the lines you want to remove and it should work. find it on line 526
  7. Thank you Roninator. I located the items and commented them out (#) and it works as expected.
  8. @CodeHunterEx If your query is fully resolved please Report your opening post and ask for it to be closed. Mods might not see a post but they will see a Report.

    Thanks
  9. If you are refering to the post about 'Lost Event', then you will find that it has been closed.

  10. @CodeHunterEx Under no circumstances can you post a Mod message. No thread is actually closed to other posts until a particular Mod tool is used, so that message you included is ineffectual.

  11. I'm reopening this thread as there has been some confusion and Chelly's follow up question (the original poster) has not been answered.

    @CodeHunterEx Next time, please do not hijack a thread - that is, post your own question in someone else's thread. Please create your own thread to ask a new question, even if they seem related.
