Remove party members

For example: My party has 5 members: in order to add an other member, the main character must choose one of his members to remove. The problem is, I don't know which members could be in his party, because during the story, he can "capture" lots of them, so he can choose which ones to capture. How can I place a command like "Remove actor number 2 from the party"?

I haven't look at party management stuff in ages so I don't really know any other way.
