    STORY OVERVIEW:

Magic is a curse. A plague upon the world and those that live in it. Those that are born with this curse unwittingly sap the mana from the earth they stand in. In order to prevent these abominations from draining away the world's lifeblood, they are locked away in a castle in an isolated dimension. It is in this castle that the cursed are to remain, removed from society so that their magic does not harm normal people. They are to be kept here for the rest of their miserable lives.

At least, that's the way it should have been...

Suddenly, a loud crash is heard. A young girl, kept apart from the rest of the castle, looks up from the ground. The magical barrier that prevented her escape slowly dissipates. Standing up, she pushes open the gate and finds her first taste of freedom. Guide her as she teams up with a renegade mage boy to search for the truth behind the castle, her unique magic, and a way to escape.

Remnants of Isolation is the Grand Prize winner for the 2014 Indie Game Maker Contest. It is a collaboration effort between Red_Nova, Unity, and Sooz.

    Features:

    - A simple, but deep Spell Fusion system that allows for lots of experimentation.

  2. I'm glad to see this here as well! Congratulations again for winning the contest. I'd like to try the Deluxe version but I saw you have ~greater~ things planned in RMN.
  3. YESSSSSS!

Greater, yes. But I'll never say no to any feedback anyone wants to give. Plus, at the moment, no dates have been hammered down regarding when the commercialized version will be released. It could come out next month, or next year! So I'd say the Deluxe version is still worth your time, if for no other reason than having and hour and a half to kill.

    You got your wish, Marrend!
  5. Recently I have gotten some responses over at RMN saying that the game crashes upon startup. Is anyone here having this problem as well? If so, I'd like to ask a few questions:

    1) Are you playing the Deluxe version or Contest version? Or do BOTH versions crash on you?

    2) If you haven't tried it yet, could you give the Contest version a shot? If it still crashes, let me know.

    3) What operating system are you using? I haven't heard of any problems Windows 8 may have on VX Ace games, but there's a first time for everything, you know?

    4) Are you playing it by clicking the execution file? Or are you opening it up in the editor first? This may not be relevant, I'm just trying to get as much information as possible here.

    5) What exactly happens when it crashes? Do you get a specific error message? Or do you get something like this:

I'm not exactly an I.T. guy, but I do want to help if I can.
