Registration required?

  1. Hi.  I purchased this software through Humble Bundle for Steam.  In the Steam "RPG Maker VX Ace EULA" (yes, I did read it), it says:

"D. User registration Licensee shall promptly sign up and register required information as a user of the Software. Licensor will provide support, via on-line basis and only the scope designated by Licensor, to the Licensee who completed the registration process in accordance with Licensor’s direction. Such support shall be provided on “as-is” basis without any warranty in any manner."

Where are they talking about registering at?  I haven't found any place within the software or on the rpgmakerweb.com website where you would 'register' your copy of this software.  Please advise.  Thanks

  2. Hmmm, could be this forum I assume? Or doesn't your steam key count as an automatic registration?
  3. I was thinking the Steam key was it, too.  But I'm not sure.  It sounds like I have to go to a website and enter in my information (or a setting in the software...which I couldn't find)...
  4. If you purchase the software outside of steam you get a product key to enter into it. You can actually download and try the rpgmakers for 30 days as a trial and it locks you out afterwards until you provide the purchase key...with steam I think it's done for you automatically (like far to many such features of games purchased on steam.)
  5. The non-steam-Version has an additional activation step on first start that is automated by the steam version, because steam already has the required info from your account. I assume that's what they're referring to, because I don't know of any special registration site.
  6. Thanks for the responses.  Just trying to keep my stuff legal ;)
