Have you ever looked up at a giant billboard in the middle of Times Square, fully back lit which illuminates it’s surroundings and what that company is about and wants to sell to you? No one starts at the top, but every company has a beginning. From the most well known in retail to the farming industries, food production, and beyond. Enter Incorporated. Where the average citizen becomes something greater than himself. With Incorporated, we've decided to create our world as player driven as humanly possible, with NPC shops for only the basics of necessities. We don’t give you too much of a head start and instead drop you in as an equal to every other player with access to the game. Dark Anime Studios doesn't believe in pay-to-win and instead think monetary gain should only come from aesthetic embodiment. There are three main ways to play Incorporated. Either you strive and make a killing in your preferred industry, survive and barely make enough just to keep the lights on, or you lose everything and watch as your future crumbles around your feet, with the abyss not seeming so bad after all. Rival business owners can be a threat to your establishments. To take measured precautions is at best, advised. And no matter what happens you can always dust yourself off and re-enter, equipped with more knowledge, which is the together the currency and ammunition of this world. There will be tutorials to help you through this process. And as long as you pay attention and allow yourself to be immersed in our coding, you can follow your most innate dreams and watch as they blossom into a reality. Find success, fail, discover new interests, and get a closer glimpse at capitalism in action. Whether you watch from afar or are the top dog in this industrial food chain, we promise to make our best attempts at making you feel, Incorporated.
So what defines Incorporated? Is it the Massive Multiplayer Online, the ability to partake in the land of killers, saints, and business moguls, or the fame that surrounds the top rated and highest grossing companies in the game of all-time? Of course only if you're into that sort of thing (not for the faint of heart). Citizens will be pitted into the destiny of their choosing and will have to maintain and update their playstyle as the game grows, as we will always be working on better improvements as the days go by. We believe consistent and constant attention to fan feedback is what pulls us from the course that most mainstream games follow (it also satisfies our innermost gamers). The key which unlocks Incorporated from a lifeless world and sets it apart is it’s player focused and centralized gameplay. There will be absolutely no quests or stories in this game, besides the ones you create for yourself, associates, and growing empire. Interaction is one of the most social features located within. Create helping hands or ones that want to destroy you. Every action in someway or another changes the entire industry and marketplace as a whole. So choose wisely upon befriending or defying a fellow player. As a citizen you can be given tasks to accomplish from other players or you can create your own. Incorporated isn’t just a game, it’s an ever-evolving lifestyle. Below we have listed just a fraction of what we want to implement as Incorporated grows and takes new forms.
Dark Anime Studios, is currently the most unheard of company possibly on the planet. That’s for good reason, however. We have been in the woodworks, molding our tools and perfecting our crafts in order to give the community which we’ve grown up on, new life. Each and every one of us are gamers who have decided that we can do it better than some of the current day mainstream developers and companies. Ethics and honesty is our primary concern, aside from producing quality and seamless content. We refuse to penny pinch or release any downloadable purchases that is pay-to-win material or not up to our ideas of high standards. Our second primary goal is fan interaction. We will have a group within Dark Anime Studios who will be browsing and keeping their ears to the virtual streets. Whether listening to your concerns and suggestions through YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, reddit, the official support email, or the dark and dusty alleys of the web. We will implement good enough sounding user created remarks and evolve with the community. Our fans are our lifeblood. Let our first game, Incorporated show you a sample taste of our visions throughout our establishing future. It would be foolish to sleep on us. We have many plans and rabbits to pull from DAS and we would like to see you there, in your respective roles that will forever swerve what we know as the video game industry today.
Do you want to see how far this rabbit hole can go?
There is alot that Incorporated will have to offer. So much in fact, that we aren’t able to announce or list all of the features that will be present come launch day. However to give you a small glimpse of what is ahead, take a look at some of the current features we have planned.

- Fresh and bright user interfaces.
DAS is currently a small team of developers. With that said we are looking for some assistance for the development of Incorporated. Please take note before signing up to join the DAS development team:
- You are a well (or at least decently) organized person. DAS likes to meet our deadlines to ensure a steady rate of progression. We advise that you do not sign up for this team if you already have numerous other projects going on. As this is a big project so there is alot that needs to get done.
- DAS has a unique way of designing our games. To keep things well organized we use Google Drive as the teams living GDD (Game Design Document). This is to insure that all members of the team are always in the “loop”.
- As said before we like to make our deadlines so if you're a person who likes to slack off you might as well stop reading here.
Field Sprite Artist (1)
The style we're going for is something similar to Mack's tiles, but with a little more detail. You'll mainly be designing sprites (paperdoll) for the purpose of character customization. You will also be designing sprites for the NPC’s of Incorporated. NPCs don't require many frames aside from walking and basic actions (moving hands and laying down). Player based sprites require a set of more complex movements.
Props Artist (2)
Your job will be to design various little props that will be used through out the game. This includes plates of food, produce (corn, tomatoes etc), and various tools. This also includes posters and billboards (to add a bit of realism to our maps).
Apparel Artist (2)
Your job will be to design various forms of apparel (Hats, Shoes, Shirts, etc).
Map Creators (2)
You'll be tasked with uniquely designing and constructing vast, detailed, lush and vibrant maps. You'll be provided with all the tilesets necessary to create your maps, but you're free to edit and modify them to your liking. We'll be using a parallax method of mapping, meaning you'll be designing the base of your map in the engine, but heavily modifying it using a photo manipulation program to finely tune and enhance your map using multiple layers and absolute placement control.
Map Tuner/Texture Artist (1)
You'll be required to enhance and perfect existing maps. This includes fixing placement issues, properly adjusting object alignment, blending ground textures to give a rich and realistic feel, adding decorations to maps as deemed necessary and recolouring/modifying structures of objects to properly suit the atmosphere of the map region.
Tileset Creator (1)
If you have a steady hand and the ability to craft custom tiles in which we could use in our mapping, this position is definitely for you. The key to making beautiful maps is not only making properly using tiles, but using tiles that are original and well crafted. This will give our maps their own sense of character and charm.
Hud Creator (1)
You’ll be tasked with the unique design of Incorporated's HUD. We are looking for someone able bodied enough to design bright and fresh user interfaces.
Event Creator (1)
You’ll be tasked with the creation of both simple and advanced events. You must have a clear understanding of the following: Switches, Common Events, Variables, Conditional Branches and all that follow.
Programmer (2)
You’ll be tasked with the development and maintaining any and/or all scripts that are required in order for Incorporated (and it’s mechanics) to function properly. In addition you will be tasked with the creation of custom scripts built for Incorporated. This includes minor work on scripts that pertain to the server as well.
Network Manager (1)
You’ll be tasked with maintaining all things server side. This includes the following: Help setting up the server, maintaining all files the server receives, web based shop, etc. This position requires that you have a clear understanding of the following; Ruby Scripting Language (Primary RGSS2), Amazon Cloud Services, Port Forwarding, etc.
DAS is also looking for a few testers to participate in the Incorporated Alpha. However we are looking for testers who will be active and can help to point out any minor and/or major bugs, errors, etc. In addition we are looking for a mature group of testers. There is no age limit to join in on the Alpha however we ask that you kindly respect each and every player present during the Alpha.
After reading thru this post we are sure that you have a few questions that you are dying to ask. To save you and us some time we have listed the most frequently asked questions (along with their respective answers below).
- How much will it cost to play Incorporated?
Spoiler
Incorporated will be a free-to-play title with options to pay for certain content.
However, we like to keep away from the dreaded pay-to-win model. Players will be
able to purchase in-game money as well as content that will have no effect (such as
boosters, etc.)
- Are you really making a MMO with RPG Maker VX?
Spoiler
Ah, the question everyone always fusses over. The answer is yes. As stated
Incorporated is not just some “random” project. This is a game of which we have
been conceptualizing for over 3 years! We have done multiple tests on “test servers” & understand all the hard work that comes from making a MMO on RPG Maker VX.
- Every Building Accessible?
Spoiler
This is something that poses a debate whenever we bring it up. Yes, every
building will be able to be accessed by the players. This too, has been tested. We want
to change the basic way MMO’s are made. You often have these large areas but how
much of that area do you really get to explore? Incorporated is looking to break those
limits.
- Why no quests?
Spoiler
We feel that adding in any NPC and or story based quest will take away from
the true vision of Incorporated, that being a world where that player is in full control.
This is why we have added our unique “Player Hiring System”.
You’re nearing the end of this detailed, concise, and coordinated plan which entails the dreams and aspirations of a company of like-minded gamers who have yet to unleash their full potential and long-lasting effects on gamers and gaming as a whole. If you’ve made it this far you might consider creating a Dark Anime Studios fanclub, hell we won’t judge you for it. All in all we are doing as much as we possibly can in order to bring you a superior experience to the PC platform, in which we see a very promising timeline for the future of DAS and all of our individual titles, respectively.
Thank you!
We appreciate everyone who has read up to this point (yes even you, Tom). Dark Anime Studios looks forward to your applications and wishes you good luck. We hope we can work together with all of our constituents in order to make Incorporated a truly unique game, that continues and will continue to stand the test of time!
