  1. Hello. I am ready to get going on creating a JRPG style video game. I will be up front in letting you know now that I know almost nothing and have very little skills in creating a game. I am, however, willing to learn as much as it takes to create one and I really feel, with help from people who love playing and making games, that we can make something people will enjoy and want more of.

General Story: "The First Witness" (Working Title)
Three initiates are running an errand to a town under control of their kingdom. They end up becoming, unknown at the time, the first witnesses of the possible invasion of "people" they have never seen before. The initiates end up being attacked by someone extremely powerful but still end up helping repel part of the attack on the town and decide to fully enroll in the infantry division in their town's army. From here, the main character fights to figure out a secret that was revealed to her during the first encounter with the main villain and will not stop until she knows what it is.

I don't want to get into extreme details in here, (nor do I have all of them), but I do have a little more depth of the story and some gameplay mechanics that I am hoping can work.

Just so you don't think I am completely lost, here are some general gameplay elements that I am hoping to bring into the game.

    Monster Battles vs. Human Battles:
Monster Battles: Large amounts of enemies per battle. "Easier" difficulty to defeat. Most monsters incapable of casting complex magic but can have magical properties themselves. Almost all monsters are "unintelligent", which is to say that they are incapable of speaking to humans. They do not drop money on most occasions. They do drop "junk" that can be sold for different values. "Junk" is not guaranteed to drop. EXP is low to moderate.
Human Battles: Can have moderate amounts of enemies per battle. "Average" difficulty to defeat. Humans can have same basic abilities as main characters. Battles are designed to be a bit longer and more rewarding. Humans can drop money and weapons, armor, and items. Most are "broken" after battle and sold as scrap, but some will stay "in-tact" for personal use or to be sold for higher sums of money.

Battle: I am trying to incorporate that "TP" is used for every action, even normal attacks. There is also magic. Magic will cost MP and TP. Bigger stronger actions cost more of each than shorter, easier ones.

Skills: Here are four of my most basic skills. I have more basic skills, but these are the four I wanted to share.
Quick Attack - Light "TP" - Physical
Heavy Attack - High "TP" - Physical
Fortify - Medium "TP" - Physical - Adopt defensive stance for 5 turns. Attack reduced 15% for all 5 turns.
Aura Shield - Light to Medium "TP" - Physical and Magical - Repels Both Physical and Magical Attacks.

I was also hoping that each character can use all their "TP", which I may call "SP", or Stamina Points, in a single turn. TP will regenerate each turn for each character with values depending on items worn, the character themselves, status effects, etc.

A disclaimer about the roles: I am willing to do my best and trade whatever I can do if I can do it with any projects people might need help with.
The main roles I would be are:
    • Writing - I can come up with weapon/armor names, characters names, side stories, etc. Anything writing related I am completely comfortable with doing.
    • Eventing - I am learning eventing, so as I come along on that I will help, but I am a light featherweight in that department right now.
    • Designing - I have what I think is a decent amount of base framework that will make the rest of the process smoother down the road. I know what I am basing the stat values off of and how I want the elements to work and that sort of thing.

    I need help with:

    • Anything Art Related - Mapping/Character Design/Map Design - Selling point? It's your canvas! Little insight from the other trades but it would be kind of open to start. Right now I am using presets.
    • Anything Music Related - Same as above. These two aspects I am unfortunately a muggle in. Can't cast a thing. Resorting to presets.
    • Eventing/Scripting - I cannot write code so I haven't though of my own scripting so this would be another "hey have at it!" area if used. And as I stated above, eventing is early for me so I will learn.
    • Writing - I am not a dictator. I am open to a lot to get this done.
    • Designing - I do believe I have a good base framework for how I want the world to be right now, but again, definitely open to ideas.
Thank you again. I'm going to grow from this no matter what so I do appreciate any feedback that has been given to me. I do, however, know deep down that I can do this with the help of others and I strongly believe that I can help bring enjoyment with the people who help create it.

For those not interested, good luck in your endeavors!!!
