    Introduction
Hello dear community. I would like to introduce you to my current project. But first, I would note that I
come from Germany and my English is not the best so please forgive me a few (I hope so =D) mistakes in the following text.
The Game itself is currently also in german, but i will translate it after the german version is finished, because it doesnt have that much text at all.
Anyway, my game is called "Ragarokk - Bestiarium" and it is a very simple card game for the RPG Maker VX Ace. I started to work on this project at the end of 2011 and i want to release the first german Demo on Christmas this year, while the englisch Demo will follow in early 2014.
Please do not expect a profound card game like Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh. I used the standard RPG Maker Ace battle system, so there is (sadly wink.png) no unique battle system included. You can even call it a pseudo-card game if you want. wink.png
The game also runs completely over pictures and the battle system, so there is no Map in the the game where you can walk on with a Character. Right now I have planned about 400 monster cards, 72 are already playable in the Demo.
In the beginning of the game the player has only 5 of them unlocked. The remaining cards must be won or unlocked by purchasing booster paks.

    How to play
The players selects three monstercards from thier card album at the beginning of each match. These three monsters will fight then against the three
monsters of your enemy. The game will only have monster cards. So there are no spell/magic-cards you may know from other card games
like Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic. The battle will begin as soon as you have choosen your cards. I will explain more in the following Text.

    The Cards
Right here you can see my design for the cards. Unfortunately I currently have only german versions of the images at hand. But I'll explain a little bit (German lessons for you, jeah ^ ^). I used a lot monsters from various Maker-RTPs,
but a friend of me has also created some unique monsters just for this game. It contains also "Guest-Monsters" from
various popular german RPG Maker Games like Velsarbor, Unterwegs in Düsterburg and of course Velsarbor (I think you already knew that).

    examplecardsrvat3p5gos.png

On the top right part of the card you can see the lifepoints. The three numbers on the right side are standing for
Moon-Defense, Sun-Defense and agility. The German word on the bottom shows the class of
the card (Dragon, Human, Spirit, Demon, Angel, ...). Each card has a class and an element (fire, water, ...).
The class defined the special ability of the card. So for example demons can do pre-emptive strikes, while angels
can resurrect dead allies. The agility stands for the order in which the cards can operate.

Each card has also Skillpoints (SP) and Actionpoints (AP).
The SP will be fully charged at the start of each battle and can normally not be regenerated.
So if they are empty, the card can not use any Skills for the rest of the battle. Skills can't do damage to enemys.
They are there for buffs/debuffs and other things like that. Each card also has the ability "energy charge".
This ability gives the card 1 AP and can be used unlimited times and it is the only way to recieve AP during a fight. In principle, this ability is
similar to the Energy-Cards from the Pokemon TCG.
Actions will be paid with Actionpoints (AP). The number of AP starts as opposed to the SP in each
round at 0 and can only be increased by the above mentioned skill "energy charge". Actions can deal damage
to enemys and segmented as well into Moon-Type, Sun-Type and Star-Type.
The damage of actions is fixed and therefore it does not vary. The formula for the calculation of damages is simple,
it is just the strength of the Action minus Moon-Defense (if it is an Moon-Type) or Sun-Defense (if it is an Sun-Type).
Example: A moon typed Action has the strength of 70, the "Freya" card above has a Moon-Defense of 10.
So the damage is 70-10 = 60 (despite elemental weaknesses).
Star typed Actions can cause direct damage to the enemy. Defense values are not considered here.

    The Battle System
Here you can see the battle system. It is the Yanfly Battle Ace-Script with a lot of my pictures and a few edits in it.
On the right side you can see your character (These "characters" are mostly only avatars. Thats because this game doesnt have a story so there is nothing to tell about the characters aswell) and the three cards you have choosen before, while the left side shows your current enemy and his/her cards. You can unlock a lot background pictures and unique battle music during your progress through the game. The tribals on this screen are animated (They are swinging in the wind).

    The League-Mode
This game-mode is the main mode in Ragarokk. In this mode you have to play a whole season with leaderboards. Try to win the first place at the end of the season. This game mode has a New Game+ feature, so you can play this mode again with your previous unlocked cards and characters. This mode can be fully played in the Demo. Its already finished so far.

    Choose your cards
Within this menu, you can choose your cards for the next battle.

    ragarokk3jnum9vihxe.png

You can buy Booster-Paks with new cards. Each card has it own rarity, so a card with a star on the bottom right corner
does not shown up that much in a booster than a card with a circle (Common). There are currently five different rarities.

    Opening a Booster
    Bronze / Circle (Common)
    Silver / Square (Uncommon)
Gold / Grey Star (Rare & holographic background)
Emerald / Green Star & Border (Very Rare & holographic background)
Diamond / White Star & Border & extended Showcase for the monster (Ultra Rare & holograpic background)

The big stars on the bottom of the picture shows you
a rating for the Booster-Pak. It is a simple thing. If you gain very rare cards by opening a Booster, your "Booster-Rating"
    will greatly increase.

Pick up your reward after a battle
After every fight you have the chance for a reward. It is mostly some money, experience Points or a chance for a really rare special Booster.
The list on the left shows you the results of all NPC-Character Fights, wich will be simulated and so on always differend. So every year you spend on the League-Mode will be have differend results on the leaderbords.

  2. I am approving this assuming that you will translate this into English (this is a requirement) and within 24 hrs, add screenshots to this topic.
  3. Hello Archeia. I have added Screenshots as a link, because the editor gives me the error "you are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.", when i try to add them as an Image.
  4. This looks incredible! I think the Sun, Moon, and Stars feature is very unique, and I personally  cannot wait to see the demo (I don't care if it's in German!).

Great job - I'm following this for sure!
  5. This game looks brilliant and it'll be awesome when it's done. I like the idea of the battle system.

  15. Hello. I have currently just finished the Demo-Version. There will be some Beta-Tests within the next days and i think i can release the Demo a few Days before Christmas. But that only counts for the german version. The english version will follow in early 2014. But i think you can already test the german version with some trial&error. Most things are self explained anyway.

    Have a nice day. =)
  16. 'Walks over to German Forums'

I think I'd rather have it in a different language early then wait a little longer when it's released :)
  17. Hopefully will be out soon... i NEED this
  18. Sorry but are you sure you can use images from "dragon island blue" without any problem?
  19. Can you link to the german demo?
