Quick time event sequence-horror game RPG maker VX Ace

  1. Hello

    I am very new to RPG maker so please be gentle:)

    I am making a horror game using RPG maker VX Ace. The main action sequences are going to be in the form of quicktime events. This means that the character will be running on rails through corridors, alleyways etc and the player will have to make the character turn corners and dodge obstacles by following the command on screen. So when there is a right turn in the corridor, the player needs to press right on the keyboard at the correct time. If they press it too early or too late they fail a la Temple run. Or if they get caught in something the might have to tap z rapidly to escape.

    I am having trouble implementing this into my game. I realise I could use action button events for this but that just means that the player is pressing the same button for each action and I want there to be more diversity.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
